Walking Simulator

I have not played Necro since S2 so I thought I would throw together a quick theory build before tomorrow…and wow.

So sure leveling it was not like this because I did not get the aspect that applies both curses in an aura around me till I got to T1, it might be limited to T1 and above.
During Leveling I was actually using the two curses where now I have blood mist and bone spirit in their place.

I have 265 paragon points…but as shown none of them are applied nor are any glyphs selected. And the only button I am hitting is Soulrift, my ultimate when it comes off cooldown.
Yes my gear is 800 and tempered for what I was using while leveling.
I do have the runes, wolfies and my season powers are maxxed cannot be helped.

edit: sorry the season power is being triggered with ult. (I’m dumb)

I guess this is what I am playing tomorrow till I get socialism plat, as it is better than my Spirit Born build which was also strong but…this is just too funny.

Well, you also have the wolves that are freezing enemies too. Thats a big plus there. I use them (when i finally get the runes) to help level. Last season, i leveled a toon just on using the wolves on Penitent. I did 0 work until 50 (at that point i just gave up and helped kill things) and basically blasted to 60.

Now that the necro gets minions back anytime you die, this is now my ultimate go to now. Thanks Blizz at least for that.

The wolves are way too strong for a magic level rune. I have like 8 of them out at most times.

You say this, but getting your socialism plat will take all of 2 minutes, assuming you have the tokens already to buy it. Your season will be very short indeed if this is the case.

I’ve been starting each season with 99 tokens myself. I’m after the seasonal objectives and the new pet myself. Even with the seasonal gimmick I won’t be pushing Pits higher than I need to.

Oh really I thought it was longer than that.
But yeah if that is the case.

I started playing WuChantg Fallen Feathers recently that and POE2 at a relaxed pace should keep me busy till next season. Also started playing Rivals again.

Reliquary tokens cross over between seasons, so if you’re capped out at the end of a season you can go into the next season and just buy all the freebies right from the start. Exactly what I did in S9. Then I got everything back while I worked on the seasonal objectives.

Yeah, having them roll over is the best case. I go in, open what i need/want then throughout the season, i get more and just bank the 99 for the next season. LOL what a dumb mechanic but free is free.

Just walked into torment 3. No not literally walked like in the video. I had to hit buttons this time.

Assigned all my paragon points and put glyphs in, one at 11, the rest at 1.
And no MW.

I think this will work for T4…have a few hours to see.

I had the exact same experience in S7 with Earthquake Barb but in T4. Even melted T4 Bosses just walking in circles around them. Was fun for a couple of hours then I changed for another build.

Reminds me of the Cataclysm Druid (Snap shot) that I was using a few seasons ago. Yes it took some setting up but I loved it!

As someone who has carpal tunnel syn/bad wrists this seems like a build which would work great for me. Is there a build guide for this? Does it require hard to acquire gear for it to work? Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

You want the “Leveling” dropdown under Equipment.
There are 3 essential tempers for resource on the rings and amulet.
Everything else is up to you, increase curse size, sever size (size max at 100%), shadow damage… it really is not that big of a deal as this is leveling you probably won’t need it.

But the build does alot more while soulrift is up. Things will just melt.

The aspect on your helm you may not get early…just use the curses manually.

How to play it:
you want soulrift up as much as possible especially in crowds, and bone prison and decrepify, helps get the cooldown down. As does your runes in your weapon.
Wolfs will be up a lot if you get the right runes. Just spam Iron Maiden, it costs nothing and alternate in Decrpify. Sever to clear out if you get into trouble.

Once you have the aura you can swap out decrepify for blood mist or bone spirit. Blood Mist gives you an invulnerable. You can even swap Golem back in. It is essentially a free spot.

I would keep Iron Maiden though, the spamming heals you with Undying.

Very Early on run Decompose and Sever, and put one point as you fill out the ones with multiple points. Later when your resource regen feels better you can switch over to blight. I have 2 attributes for +Essence on boots and Chest. This won’t impact the curses working like they do but it will impact when you are using blight and sever more later.

The T1 version is with uniques.
The Live version will be my actual build as it unfolds with the seasonal perks also.

There is no set paragon yet, I just picked those randomly, I don’t optimize that until I am ready to push T4. But once I have it I will update it to the Live Version.

The thing with this build is only 4 boards make sense and the last is gonna be iffy based on the necro boards. But I am using the bone one…you can use Golem if you decide to keep the golem.

edit: sorry forgot something as you level to 25 keep your summons even put a point into their health if you need to. Once you have the sacrifice aspect which I think is in a dungeon, so target that early, unless you just get lucky and it drops, you can slowly sacrifice them for the benefits I selected.

Anything else that is not clear, just ask.

Some other thoughts as I leveled to 40 myself.

Affliction is what puts this over the top.

So if it feels like work in the beginning don’t worry it gets easier once you unlock the key passive. In fact you can use whatever until you get to that node , and then just respec.

The first nodes you want to double up on are the Ult,and Momento Mori. Mostly becuase you want that ult cooldown as low as possible. Then go through and add 1 to the rest as you get them, prioritize multipliers first. The curse dmg multiplier or the shadow nodes are good for #3.

For Utility tempers on non-weapons…of course increase size for sever, curse, and I think I have curse duration too (not sure if this one is needed) and soulrift duration.

Take a good look at Affliction key passive, so you do want to stack crit damage, vuln damage, dmg to crowd control on weapons and rings. CritDamage is probably best one to stack and then Vuln Dmg. I will use the Crit Glyph so you will easily max out that number in Affliction. Don’t overdo it on the gear until you know what paragon will yield. Once at 900%, yes those attributes still help just not in the multiplier context.

You were absolutely right…not sure why I forgot about the carryover.
Will still take the build to T1 and get the uniques though.

Quick note.

The “Live” version on the link, is just theory for the moment, I have no idea if I can make the armor and resists work for that in T4. But it is where I would like to go. Likely the bone prison boots will go if needed.

Bloodless Scream is a must for this, yes in the 2H spot. I have it on the working Live version but did not update the others so you know what to keep on the 2H until you find it. Then move that to the necklace.

Also This is now my favorite build. Those of you that remember my old Sorc “Cheese from another Room” videos. This Necro is better at it.

I wanted to call her “PottyMouth”…for the Cursing but I went with something non-reportable. :stuck_out_tongue:

We’re back to walking simutalor status in T1 for this season.

I got the best aspect roll for the Aura .3 seconds (this aspect is also needed for the walkabout mode, the lower the better)

Was thinking the last Unique chaos power which swaps ult and core might be interesting. I would need to switch off Sever and Blight and go to decompose and something else…but to be able to have soulrift up permanently or even swap in bloodwave and use the aspect to make it a darkness skill would make this pretty crazy.

The core skills are nice to have but really Affliction and the Curses do the heavy lifting.

But all contingent upon gettin that chaos power which I don’t have yet.

How’re things going @Locnar? any issues?

So we’ve made it to D3 level OP. Inarius bone armor rides again!

I mean you’re obviously doing T2 damage (50k a pop) amount in T1 (which requires around 5k avg)

So that’s quite the expected behavior/result :person_shrugging:
