This is a Nightmare Dungeon that is 6 levels above my character. Shouldn’t enemies on my own level offer some resistance? Let alone 6 levels above?
And should we still be calling them “Nightmare” dungeons?

Simple. Do higher Nightmare dungeon so you feel like its a nightmare lol.
Previously NM dungeon is pretty hard especially with Cold Enchantment.
Then along came BOB CASUALS who whined that this things are so overpowered.
So Blizz listened to majority of BOB CASUALS and nerfed the NM difficulty down.
Pre-season NM are really nightmare enough
I understand we rationalize it so we do this…but there are two issues with this.
Also what is the point of having levels close to you? The numbers are arbitrary so why not just bring the challenge to a closer number to your level? Do we really need 30 levels of fluff, wouldn’t one or two suffice?
You’re a level 88 running a t40 dungeon with an OP build, I’m not surprised you find it too easy.
Have you considered doing higher NMD?
Arbitrary numbers. How many layers of fluff do you need?
Why even have levels if everything at your level just runs up and dies?
Sure one or two is understandable, but 3 levels above you monsters should offer resistance no? Because they out level you.
The monsters might be 6 levels above you, but at level 88 you’re probably in mostly ilvl 925 gear and ready to do much higher difficulties.
Not sure what your point in this thread is.
But are you really doing higher difficulties if monsters just let you run by them?
Blizzard has never, at any point in the entire colonies history, ever not been a casual gaming company. Every single product they have produced is a casual product targeted at casuals, dumbed down and simplified over it’s peers.
Every one.
So coming out here to pretend you are some superleet ubergamer is a hilarious joke.
It’s a casual game, always has been.
Basically?
The only challenge I actually had all season was when I said “hey I’m going to try Duriel at level 84 on my summoner druid”
That was a little bit scary,
By level 87 he was pretty easy. By level 90 I was just looking at my cooldown bar to keep my rotation as tight as possible and kill him faster lol.
The game needs harder modes
The game needs harder modes that also aren’t built around streamers and only accessible after perfecting your character. IDK? I’m not going to play 150 hours each season basically just to get back to a greater rift 2.0 lol…
Yiu clearly don’t know old blizzard
You mean if you evade them while using gear that makes you super fast, literally built to run by and have them chase you? You want them to be a brick wall? Is that what you’re asking for?
Because you are not the only one playing the game. There are plenty of players who struggle with mobs at or below their level, it’s not a 1 size fits all. That’s why there are tiers with greater difficulty so that those who are stronger can still find a challenge.
Nah you don’t lol.
20 chars
Not just harder modes, that is there in NMDplayerlevel30+ but reasons to do them. My glyphs don’t level any faster in those dungeons.
I do want to be clear I do believe the game should be for every level of play. But right now there are just so many levels of fluff. And more importantly the enemies are not getting better with higher levels, you just get more that let you run by.
Um…
Okay so World of Warcraft back around vanilla, Burning Crusade and then as far as Wrath of the Lich King was one of the more serious MMOs made for raiding…
Starcraft was one of the most competitive, serious strategy games to come out in a long time… It had a massive, highly competitive tournament circle especially in Asia…
Blizzard used to make some pretty serious games. Yeah, they’re really dumbed down now, but they actually used to make stuff that was kind of a gold standard for serious gaming.
Yeah… both d1 and d2 were for casual.
Their snes title were for casual. Lol
Warcraft1 and 2
Starcraft all casual
Agreed on both points. But will players who struggle get better if there is no challenge to make them rethink their approach? Not for the next 20?30?Arbitrary number? levels above them? The problem is definitely with devs not putting anything into trying to make this better for all.
Raiding in WoW has way more mechanics now than it did Vanilla - Wotlk. That game was specially made with casuals in mind. That’s how it became so popular compared to other MMOs.
Starcraft I never really got into, but I imagine it’s the pvp that’s competitive and strategic, not the story campaign.
Overwatch, while for everyone, launched with the E-sports League planned.
