Wait a minute..this isn't a MMO

Im starting to think some of these “pro forced grouper” posters are either new to gaming or living in their own little fantasy bubble. No way that they have played games from the past that required groups and not at least understand why so many would be opposed to reliving that experience in an arpg. A genre by the way which has always been known for being mulitplayer optional.

I’m simply believing what is written on wowhead. Which includes pictures of the two new currencies you can get exclusively in the Citadel.

Coins which can get you loot rewards, retempering scrolls, and cosmetics. Plus Khazra horns which are used to transmute high level boss materials.

They also state “The rewards for the Dark Citadel will be updated every week, giving players incentive to regularly complete this new co-op endgame activity.”

The currency is for the cosmetics. The cosmetics are the rewards.

Obviously you didn’t bother following the link. As the one currency clearly states that it’s for transmuting high level boss materials.

Until I see proof that the devs lied and progression is locked behind the coop dungeon, this is all guessing.

Yeah, good call. Wowhead could be making it all up and making fake screen shots from the game

It will be with VoH.

World of Diablo achieved.

Diablo is not a MMO, it’s an ARPG. Every content has to be soloable.
It’s a joke, that Blizzard announces features for groups only.

Agreed. Also, if grouping was that great, everyone would be doing it and there would be no need to “incentivize” us.

I will just Laugh at this as it seems the die hard people that want to group in no way would like to see this as also solo content. I see nothing more then people debating the if you don’t want to group find something else to do. I think these threads Have become more of a FU to solo players then a way to figure out why would a game developer like Blizzard create content that can only be done one way or another, All you people going on about Group content is needed nobody is saying their can not be group content which by the way already is in game. I will take this to the next level all you people posting the too bad senario what would you be saying if it was Solo content only as in you can not group for it in any way shape or form i am guessing you would be bent out of shape. I will repeat a question i asked before why can they not make it doable in either group or solo give the groupers a Unique Transmog i would care less but stick to what has made Diablo what it is all content either group or Solo.

What’s the official definition of MMO and ARPG? If none, then is everyone correct that this isn’t an MMO and not an ARPG. Or it’s MMO but not an ARPG but it’s ARPG but not an MMO?

If there’s no official delineation, I think everyone is right and everyone is wrong lol.

It’s not my fault that you can’t read things clearly and don’t understand what exclusive rewards mean. :person_shrugging:

FROM YOUR GOSPEL WOWHEAD

Players can earn a weekly reward cache every week, which, for example, can include Scrolls of Retempering.

There will be a custom currency called Citadel Coins that can be used for exclusive cosmetics like complete Armor sets.

You will also be able to buy Citadel-exclusive consumables, like the Scroll of Abundance, which restores health and drops Health Potions, or the Scroll of Contained Goblins, which can be used to summon a treasure goblin.

There it is clear as day. The currency is for cosmetics and consumables only. None of that is locking progression behind the coop dungeon. Show me gear that has higher stats than can not be gotten anywhere else and I’ll join your outrage. Then I’ll leave for another ARPG. Until that happens, it’s just a side thing like PVP, which also has exclusive rewards, that can be easily ignored by soloers.

Here you go - scroll of re-tempering. The thing that changes your salvaged 3 ga weapon in a 3ga weapon you are actually carrying. Probably the currency that will end up being most in demand.

It’s certainly iffy. But I have a feeling that there will be tons of complaints from players who simply rerolled the same stats they didn’t want. Plus from what I understand the coop dungeon takes hours to complete. I’d rather just run tons of IH for new loot than be stuck in a dungeon with other players for that long just to get another shot at tempering an item. But to each his own.

If everything you said is true than you are a very good player. But there are better players and playing solo could very well be holding you back. If you wanted to take your game to the next level you would need to start playing with other people who are also at your level. Then maybe you could brag about Pit 150+'s…

why? is there some sort of competition?

Only to mmo players who still think they are in WOW.

So lets say you want a normal unique for your character. The absolute best version of that would be a 4 GA one. Based on PTR drop rates just getting an 800 unique is going to be hard let alone one with 1 or more GA’s.

So with that in mind who is going to have the easier time? The person that gets to spend 1/4 the boss materials and can convent materials from other bosses they don’t care about or the person spending 4X the materials and can’t convert materials?

Obviously the group players will have the easier time and on average will be running around with better gear than solo players. Progression might not be “locked” but it’s certainly slowed down a lot.

This is no different than a F2P at this point. Where solo players are treated like the people playing a F2P without paying while group players are treated like they are melting their credit cards. With the major difference being that the solo players paid just as much.

Not to mention it could be even worse. The citadel could be the new infernal hordes for season 6. Which is to say, the best place to farm basically everything.

The most important person to compete against is yourself. If being among the very best is within reach than it says something about a person who does not try.

What gets me are all these forum Trolls That CLAIM To LOVE Playing The Game And Yet Have Multiple Posts in Hundreds of Threads How?! Do they work at a job too? If so how? They also Claim nothings wrong with said game! And that nothing needs to be changed🤯
