Years back I played wow but quit b/c overall, too much group stuff, time based stuff, I dont want to be online at a specific time, I just want to play the game when I want, and I understand, MMO isnt right for me. But ARPG’s sure, were! What the heck is going on, raid lock out timer, forced group content. Didnt wow just get some solo dungeon in the new expansion but now D4 is adding, group only content? Something feels off.

Ok, then dont play the coop dungeon. A 2-4 group an mmo does not make.

Plently of other end game modes.

AS a solo player, I am with you on those questions. But the devs have decided to make this addition and roll with it. There is not much we can do but to maybe try if don’t like it whatever.

Maybe in the future the coop content proves to be more of a failure than success, they will not elaborate on it further and just, you know, let it go.

haha, lol but ye like Lazyloaf said, you really aren’t missing much out of the coop content it just retempering scrolls and cosmetics…

I’ve had it with tempering and I don’t care about tempering anymore. So I will just engage with tempering without the reroll who cares. And the cosmetic does not interest me .

PLenty more content for solo players it does not stop you from getting top end loot and complete your build if you don’t engage with dark citdel.

I use to be in a top raid guild back around 2010 in EQ2… never again. Calls in the middle of the night that a boss was up, the drama of loot and coordinating 36 people + for a fight. The gaming world has changed a little since those days but I’d still not step one toe back into those waters.

That said, what they are doing for the expansion isn’t on those levels at all, far from it. As a solo player these days I’m not too excited to hear about it but it is my understanding the only true advantage will be cosmetics. That’s fine.

Fair point. Ive always played diablo games, just didnt think id get locked out of content but i will survive if its not essential for progress

I think you’re underselling that aspect of the game, at least for me it’s a very important part of why I play and pay for the battle pass and I’m sure for many other players too. If it’s stuff like random mount armours that’s fine, but if it’s full armour/weapon sets then that’s a very, very big deal.

well… I guess you have a point. But I mean, I don’t know what to tell ya. Blizzard obviously thought about solo players and that is why they put mostly cosmetic stuff in there so I guess, most solo players won’t cry about if it drops anything more meaningful.

But again, no offense to you I fully understand that the cosmetic might be super meaningful to you. But again, I don’t know what to tell ya

It is what it is, and it’s Blizzards game so they can do as they please. It’s just important to remember that people are playing for different reasons and that what is trivial to one can be important to another, and with that will come different reactions to decisions.

there is also

  1. build diversity is :poop:
  2. million dmg number is :poop:
  3. drop rate is :poop:

But in all honesty, some of these :poop: are justified and should be looked at.

I am not against doing high dmg for example, and I am all for increasing the drop rate because current PTR drop rate for anything useful is indeed :poop:

D4 feels of since release. Probably cause it wasn’t finished in development.

I think the coop situation in Voh is another step in the wrong direction.

It’s a first step that does not derail the Experience much for solo people.

But ya know, after 1 step usually comes another. And another. And another.

Then after a while you turn around and you ask yourself. Where the heck am I? How did I end up here. Then you will come to conclusion that this first step back in the day set you off.

Well I mean if the rewards are desirable regardless of how you feel youll be willing to try and go into it with an open mind. Who knows maybe it will be fun maybe it will be meh. Even if it meh ill still do it cause I want the cosmetics

At this point, I’m genuinely hoping Blizz gets bombed by complaints, forcing them to put in a solo option.

D4 is being developed by people that dont understand the ARPG genre and probably have MMO background

They have proven again and again that the genre is not something they are familiar with

Its sad, but it is what we got
