VRAM creeps up to full amount on 4080, causing stuttering, still no fix

So a while ago I started a thread about drastic drops in FPS in certain areas. I went the whole week with only a couple FPS drops. Come Friday night and it totally changed, I was playing the level decent and it was terrible, almost regularly dropping from 140 to 40fps making it unplayable. I also noticed the VRAM will eventually max out on a 4080 which has 16gb of vram, then the stuttering starts. My system should have more than enough to play this game at 4k. My specs are as follows:
Gigabyte X570 Master
AMD 5900X
32gb Gskill memory
Gigabyte 4080 RTX

Probably the patch did something to you aswell

Welcome to the club.
You’re now also suffering from the vram/ram leaks within this poorly optimized garbage they call a game.

A friend is playing this game on a 1060GTX with 16gb ddr3 ram, medium settings.
Meanwhile I have friends (and there’s enough users here on the forum aswell) suffering from crashes on a 32/64gb ram / 12/16gb vram setup.

Its trash coding, and nothing you will try will fix the solution, only delay the problem.

It seems every patch, more and more people start to notice this issue that has been arround since open beta.

You can try a lot of things, like updating drivers, closing background apps, removing high ress textures. It might possibly lead to being able to play long enough that it will last for your entire sessions, or it might still boot you to desktop straight after character select, it’s hard to tell. Will it completely fix the issue? i verry much doubt that

I was thinking of changing my resolution to 1440p, but you cant in game, you have to change the resolution on the whole monitor. That is some real mickey mouse crap, in 40 years of gaming I don’t believe i ever have seen that.

It’s 100% the game. I’ve tried pretty much everything. Even changing my res from native 4k to 1440p. But alas, no fix. I can no longer play the game on high graphics without it crashing every 1-30 minutes. I’ve had to completely lower my standards and stoop down to low graphics with capped frames at 60, no dlss and reactive on. No hdr or gsync…anything awesome like that. Can now play the game as long as I’d like. But I would love to play on high graphics or even custom ultra like I should be able to. Definitely sad days for thousands of us =/

The game is poorly optimized, there is no way it should be using 15gb of vram or more. Last night I had a horrible experience with a boss battle, the fps was constantly dropping to 40fps and back up again to 125, it was like a slideshow. Im so sick of games being released in such a poor state.

Funny. I didn’t play for 1,5 week or so. I’m always on 1920x1200 playing on a low end Intel Arc 370A but worked quite well on low settings. Today logged in, new patch and it’s basically unplayable. First thougt it was my drivers from the GPU but now i see it’s the game. Well great, i guess i’ll play something else tonight pff… 99,- euro for a game that doesn’t play normal when you start it up…
