At present Vox omnium doesn’t interact well or at all with a lot of build options available when using basics. I think changing it to cast the basics instead of firing would open up a tonne of cool and interesting build options. For example, flame weaver, or triggering unstable currents casts without a shock skill.

That would be interesting, especially working with Flameweaver. So far, it works with Aspect of Might and other basic triggers like Aspect of Efficiency. More experimentation needs to be done like Aspect of the Expectant, but I agree it should trigger with even more Basic skill based abilities.
I had the same idea to combo it with firewall + flameweaver and was very disappointed when the bolts didn’t split in the firewall. As it is I’m not really sure what build anyone is making with the Vox tbh since pretty much every core & mastery skill are going to want a different item on their weapon slot.
I guess it’s still good for a firebolt build but I can’t see how firebolt sorc wouldn’t want to run Verathiel instead
I’m pretty sure it is the most trash tier unique in the current state of the game, and considering it was just released this season that’s pretty disappointing. I’d hope the devs would want to make the new stuff appealing to the player base, that’s how you keep a seasonal game feeling fresh after all, players don’t end up using the same builds season after season if the new options actually offer interesting build paths
