Just my personal opinion. They are making Diablo IV and overly complicated WoW version for Diablo. Why can’t they just allow us to engage in the activities we enjoy. No that would be too easy. They have it so, if you want to perform activity A, they make you do activities b, c, and d. Part of it maybe the learning curve, but that is why I don’t play WoW or Black Desert etc, because they make it too much like a job. Why can’t they just make it so all materials drop throughout the game. So, I can grind out in any area and get boss mats, masterworking mats, crafting mats, etc. I shouldn’t have to engage in specific activities to farm materials to engage in my chose activity. Just put the Uber bosses at the end of a long dungeon and let us grind.
I was the first to call out the WOW and MMO direction this game was heading… the problem is everybody in this forum besides me plays wow… blizzard knows exactly how there mmo community is so whoevers idea it was to integrate it with actual gamers was the problem… gamers dont want to deal with toxic emotional bullcrap when trying to game out PERIOD
This world suffers from a disease called psychology, game devs and most people think we humans are simply driven by neurotransmitter like dopamine and thus everything is created to create a certain reward-flow. a flow that is supposed to give you little motivational hits, like a carrot on a stick, but never a big win. In Diablo 2 you could get a jackpot reward as soon as you entered hell act 3 (roughly), you could literally find an endgame items before you even entered the end game. But modern devs and audience seem to hate this concept, they want their constant little and safe dopamine hits…
I play WoW but I’m also a big ARPG guy and I can tell you that nobody who plays WoW ever asked for D4 to be like that.
I hear ya. Gamers come in all flavors. Some like the WoW experience and some like the original Diablo genre. IMO it’s pretty simple…if I was a WoW kind of player, I would be playing WoW, but I’m not I’m the Diablo kind of player, so I want to play Diablo. I really think this is the main reason why they will never achieve the longevity of Diablo II. They are using a model that requires constant content generation to keep players interested.
Why because you know how much your own community dislike eachother and tried moving on to another game to get a break?

I understand and im not trying to be negative but gamers dont want to game with wow players… PERIOD… the entire wow community controlled this forum untill very recently… i never saw a single one of you “wow guys” one time deffend the arpg community… so why the hell would i even play into this conversation?
Simply because if we wanna play WoW, we’re just gonna play WoW
Everything you needed to know was in the last reply… you capitalizing the two W’s, then this refers to you
Not fait man. lol. I capitalized both WWs in my OP and I really don’t like WoW. lol I’m just showing some respect for the game. Different strokes for different folks ![]()
You really dont like wow but play it every day… that sounds about right
Some parts of it more bearable but I can’t stand farming boss materials. There’s no reliable and/or fast way to farm anything other than living steel. Maybe I’m an ignorant noob and will learn in time.
That makes no sense at all.
Imagine thinking arogance or to play dumb gives you a freebie haha
What are you talking about lol
Man I dont even know anymore honesly
actually first “wow” version of diablo was D3.
Cooldowns, gen system, rotations, scaling and etc - those were Wow mechanics and was implemented in D3. That was and is not an ARPG mechanics.
Now in D4 they just implemented more MMO mechanics such as coop-dungeons(you can call it raid, whatever), weekly rewards, “open” world and etc.
In my opinion, the reasons are purely commercial cuz it’s way easier to get money via your mtx shop for mmo, than for ARPG.
Is it bad - yes, but wcyd ?
My original comment was never about D4 being bad, I just said that nobody who plays WoW wanted a WoW 2.0 out of D4, we want an authentic ARPG with its own identity.
I think D4 is bad tho
