Yeah, it was unlimited before, now they locked it to 30 FPS. Completely unacceptable for PC. Let us unlock or set FPS!

I am getting this as well… Must be a bug, and quite annoying as it lags a lot.

It’s not a bug. They locked it during last beta weekend :frowning: It sucks. On first beta weekend, it wasn’t locked.

Not only are they capped to 30, they have improper frame pacing and stutter like crazy, they look truly awful now.

Weren’t people complaining about this last beta?

yeah this is dumb:((

Yeah what’s up with this 30fps and massive stuttering? It’s making me nauseaus

Please unlock the cinematics again, shat is stuttering like crazy for me.

I think they should be unlocked or capped higer on PCs. Console players can not tell the difference but on PC you see that FPS drop.

The fun thing they put options for DLSS and frame generation. And then cinematics and non-interactive scenes are capped to 30fps. I use a 4k 144Hz monitor, the game runs at full settings 150fps using GSynch, and then suddenly it drops at 30 fps. AWFUL.

its ugly isnt it. i can see the choppyness kick in when its switching to a cinematic and they are so unfluid now.

they made the game look bad just to prevent gygabytes cards from melting or something?
questionable.

when im about to click the pink petals it gets 30 fps vibes real quick and its stutter fest
never been so happy to esc out of cinematics.

poor artists get their great work rendered pathetic. unfair.

This x 100. There is ZERO reason to lock ANY PC game to 30 FPS.

there actually is … if you are bad developer
But its kinda funny to see this all the time past 10 years only with big developers like Blizzard, EA, Activision, Rocksteady (batman), Square Enix, FromSoftware etc … everyone is hated for it yet they keep doing it.

Problem is with chain of managers and their mentality … they set low goals and dont understand that better game just makes more money. Thats why Blizzard currently put so much work into pass … how to make money from cosmetics … instead of focusing on the engine and just better product.

I never had this problem with games from smaller studios … its really sad to see that 1 man studio can do better games, better details, better performance than … i dont know how many people is working on it … but i would say few hundreds, 500-1000 people.
There is one diablo clone game, nothing much, but for example the first thing i see in games are lights and shadows … you are in a dungeon with torch in your hand and its casting perfect light and shadows all the time, played 50 hours and i havent found a single problem with it. One man made the game. Take Elden ring for example. Not long ago they introduced ray tracing, big shadows are good alright, but props, small items, even some weapons, suddenly dost have any kind of shadow. Dead Island 2 has the same problem.
Yet i have insane problem with D4, glitching light and shadows, its broken and they dont care …
For me this is game breaking but sadly … i am one of the few

Sorry to rebump this old thread from the grave. As I doubt I bring something new to the discussion.

But one of you is right. The cinematics were uncapped and the switch between capped and uncapped from ingame to cinematics bricked those gigabytes GPUs. I beleive this is a programming issue on blizzard’s side and they didn’t know how to fix it. So they capped the framerate.

Sht happens I guess

Just started and holy siht this low fps opening cinematic legit hurts my eyes. Get rid of the cap pls.

yeah it sucks. its nasty at 30 fps. im spamming that esc like no tomorrow as soon as a cinematic starts.

sorry to the artists. i simply can’t stand it.

FYI: there’s a toggle in the Graphics section. Turn it off to restore your framerate in cutscenes.
