Very Underwhelming Season 1 Announcement… Where are the QoL / Endgame replayability?

So we get a few new gems, a few new legendaries, a few new unique items, and 1 new boss (probably worthless like uber Lilith)

Where is the new endgame activity? (like nm dungeons but different type of replayability / rewards?

What new activity is there to do after level 100? None?

What is going to keep people’s interest after reaching level 100 in 2 weeks?

What is going to make the people who have completed everything to do in pre-season want to play Season 1? other than filling out the battlepass if they purchased the ultimate edition to get some cosmetics?

Where are the leaderboards, to actually make a new season engaging and competitive?

Where is the new pvp content? (currently only endgame and it gets boring fast)
No matchmaking?
No Rankings?
No Competitive Team play PvP / Arenas?
Where’s the Arenas that were promised back in Diablo 3?

Wheres the Trading post / Trade Channel / Auction house???

Why is there no group pvp activity like there is in Diablo Immortal (Battlegrounds) ?

Why do they think that a new Season with no replay-ability is going to keep people playing this game?

Why is their focus so far on the future? If we’ve learned anything about modern gaming, 90% of the time when people get bored and quit games, they do not come back. They are on the search for the next new better game.

“We want this game to be played for years to come”

Yeah, that’s not happening with no end-game re-playable content. There’s literally no reason to play Season 1 vs Pre Season.

TLDR:
Game is going to die with no new End Game content, other than casuals that never finish the game and log on to play a few hours every week or two. The game has no fun/rewarding End game activities to keep people who love playing the game playing for a long time. Bad design.

it’s clear this game is for brain dead boomers who play for 7 minutes a week.

If this is the stuff you want you bought the wrong game. Do research next time. You know that saying about a “fool and his money” yeah… that’s you.

Every failed game says “this game will be played for 10 years!” As they everythingisfine.gif

Pvp was huge in d2, and was an absolutely massive point of contention when d3 wasn’t going to have it. Maybe you are playing the wrong game.

Yes I too love playing against whoever swiped their credit card the hardest to get those GG rare PvP items from China or JSP bots with really good pickits in Diablo 2. Need more of that in my life

I agree that not having an endgame makes D4 a dumpster fire. Where are the chase items, boss drops, and trading?

As far as pvp, I have to disagree. D2 pvp was great for the time we lived in, but we just don’t need it now. We have entire genres dedicated purely to every type of pvp imaginable. LoL has been doing only pvp for over a decade, and they can’t perfectly balance it, so why would you expect Blizzard to waste time and resources to even attempt it? It’s okay to evolve and play more than one game. Pvp in arpgs will always be some half baked side project, because the only ones wanting it are the old guys who never moved on from D2.

The game was supposed to be an ARPG MMO with some pvp. MMO! Massive Multiplayer … MULTIPLAYER! A reasonable person in 2023 paying $70-100 for a AAA game ten years in the making should expect matchmaking, competitive group & single player pvp, microphones, ranking systems, evolved and engaging endgame content.

D2 pvp was never ever balanced in any way.

But it was an endgame loop. The only endgame loop besides trading, the whole point of d2 lod was to build a char, mf with it, to trade up to build a pkpknonkok char.

That was the entire gameplay loop. Trading and pvp.

I mean I guess you could argue mfing as well, but that was more the means to the ends not really the ends.

considering theres not even a duel function in this game, where you can’t just destroy someone wherever in the world, i’d say its lacking some fundamentals.

Diablo 4 PvP is the highest viewed streaming content, and there’s literally no content for PvP.

Imagine the re-playability and fun that would be brought with;
more pvp activities and rewards,
matchmaking,
leaderboards,
and competitive end game content, that PvP can actually bring to D4.

It’s not mandatory, its something to keep over half your playerbase engaged in, post hitting level 100.

Unless we get crazy bonuses to xp, that isn’t when the normal player will hit 100.

We knew this wasn’t coming. Doesn’t make it okay but just the facts.

This doesn’t shock me. I thought the people really huffing the hopium on S1 being a huge change were a bit crazy. S2 is when I’ll more judge the dev team on responding to overarching issues in the game

PvP has been the most engaging thing in D4 but they also stated that the PvP wouldn’t be balanced around and indicated to be even focused on.

If you wanted a PvP-focused D4 that was obviously not happening early on. If the dev team changes course on this some it’s be more likely to happen later in season cycles unfortunately
