Yup. I am VERY ecstatic that the devs confirmed on twitter that seasonal resets will continue to be the norm and seasonal only battle pass rewards.
All these threads of casuals whining about the battle pass being seasonal only is absurd. The devs already catered to you non-seasonal casuals, aka the “eternal realm” by giving you guys ALL of the new seasonal items/uniques, and legendary aspects day 1 of the season start with everyone else.
Something MUST remain as a seasonal only reward, other than a leaderboard that is 3 seasons away. That something is the paid battle pass. If you want the cosmetics, then play seasons and earn them.
If you are indeed not a casual. Please explain to me how a 3 month seasonal reset fundamentally fits Diablo 4 on any aspect of how the game functions. Also have you reached level 100? Have you killed echo of lilith? Have you completed a 75+ tier nightmare dungeon? Have you completed the Hatred’s Chosen pvp achievement? Are you truly not a casual?
I have reached level 100. I have maxed my paragon glyphs. I have completed Hatred’s Chosen. I have completed a level 70 tier nm dungeon on a tb rogue and am working to tier 75+. I am not a casual. And I can tell you that this game in its fundamental structure will not work with a 3 month window for seasonal reset.
The game fundamentally functions much more similiarly to Diablo 2 than any other ARPG which had a 6 month seasonal reset. It is no more like 3 month reset ARPGS like POE or gags Diablo 3 than it is like an MMO like wow or lost ark.
I can explain to you or link you my forum post that will explain to how and why that is. And if you are indeed not a casual I am very positive you will probably agree with me. I am suprised as you are claiming to not be a casual that you don’t understand this already.
I’m sure it would be refreshing to do some quests again or new quests/dungeons they add after 6 months. Though after 3 is a little too frequent. Same with the character reset. Seasons should be 6 months as they were in Diablo 2.
You did all that in like a week. You only need one month for all the characters. PLUS there is a huge exp boost you get during the season from the battle pass.
“The Free Tiers of the pass will provide gameplay boosts to all players—things which make the journey of leveling up a fresh seasonal character faster and more streamlined.”
this games fun level goes up 100% if they add a better functional economic system. Even when you run out of content or start to get bored, Theres always a driving factor of economic gain that keeps you spinning the wheel.
Even Path of Exile players don’t like releveling for the billionth time at league start, and there’s nothing casual about that game, so I’m not sure why anyone would be surprised about the response here, considering getting to maps (endgame) in PoE takes like 8 hours or less for established players.
OP is, in fact, casual and bad, because he thinks lengthy leveling time going through the same content represents any manner of real challenge.
I find it funny how people who are new to Diablo and the ARPG genre overall think the way the entire genre and all past Diablo titles worked should be changed to meet their expectations.
Seasons are the whole point of this kind of game. Not every game should cater to everyone and if you don’t like how it is, maybe the game is not for you.
