It’s how patches work. They give themself plenty of wiggle room with low numbers leading up to a 2.0 patch which is typically an expansion of some sort. Most video game companies do this. It’s a very common practice.

blizzard starts over with the next whole number with each expansion. they did it with d3 as well
battle.net hasn’t updated to 2.0 yet

Yeah, it also means, you’re up to date, and only have to wait for them to launch the season 
Yeah Steam and PS5 are reported as v2.0 while I’m here on battle.net thinking to myself… WHY?
