Drifting Shade?
The modifier where you keep moving and it’s a non issue? In a dungeon where you have to keep moving to avoid traps? In my experience, the way the dungeons work in regards to avoiding traps lend itself to beating the modifier itself.

I’d rather deal with Drifting Shade than Pikachu tbh. I’ve had it up to here with that and traps!
Drifting shade is still in the game? Another un-fun, slow-you-down mechanic. Game is bad.
I didn’t complain about the pearl drop rate, nor anything similar. I tried doing it with 2 pearls, but regardless, it’s the principle behind this.
I hear everyone, and I agree, best thing is to scrap those bad affixes. Same as NMD. The principle behind this is we shouldn’t have to scrap these things because they’re poorly designed and clearly not tested, nor should they buff things like crazy to make it stupid easy for us to do it, or make it so we don’t care about failing. I like fair challenges, and as they stand now, at least with a few affixes, they’re not fair nor balanced. That was my point.
Luckily, there is enough Sigils dropping that I can decide which ones I will salvage and which ones I will play.
But I agree, that if you play anything melee/with a lot of ground effects - Drifting Shade and Traps are really an annoying combination.
not fair or balanced? they are trivial and easy. cant think of a single affix i would scrap on a vault sigil. even on a nmd sigil lightning storm is only one i am scrapping
Drifting chase, stormbane wrath, ligthning gathering = instant salvage. Period.
Had enough powder when I entered WT4 to make one sigil. Lightning Storm.
Scrapped it and had enough to make 1 sigil again. Lightning Storm…
Ran this trash mechanic and one sigil dropped…
Lightning Storm.

I play a fireball/metero build. I stand in everything because I cant see anything. Its why i have max armor cap for nm 100, max res, fortify and bubbles.
When im playing with friends they cant see the ground either melee or range so we all stand in it
we seem to all do good but we all have the defense to stand in fire.
Man, besides the final room, all traps are avoidable, target is to arrive there with 22-24.
After that, no matter which type of vault, go to a corner in the extreme diagonal of the room, usually I go to the left one. If there is a turret there, just await behind it (you are allowed to walk a little in the wall without any traps around, this will help with ground effects). If it is an area damage totem, just destroy it and the place is yours.
Now, you have to await 30 secs so the chest will appear, but don’t go for it yet, await a little more and the traps will be deactivated. Kill the pending monsters and profit. You just need to have 14 stacks to get all rewards, by doing that I have never finished with less than 19 (usually got more than that, this varies more when I am switching layouts and loose some more while running to the last room).
EDIT: I am following this strategy playing melee only.
Drifting shades don´t make you loose points. its just a dungeon affix and easily avoidable.
Traps are very easy to avoid too. Anyway, get 30 points and you will open all chests at the end. Now it costs only 3 coins (dont remember the item name).
There are some instances where you have to pause between traps. Drifting shade is not your friend if it catches you in that paused moment.
I play a Barbarian for this season. I haven’t had any trouble getting through vaults, even with some of the more difficult affixes with enough stacks to unlock all the chests at the end.
There’s always a safe spot where you have some movement allowing you to avoid traps, avoid negative affixes and kill enemies without losing stacks.
The final room for melee isn’t hard just annoying. So much visual clutter all over the place. Not to mention the stupid amount of monster throwing around CC abilities. The final room just need to be scale for solo player.
What’s really annoying about this designer’s drfting spit is, even after you finish the vault and want to teleport back while standing inside the big vault completion cover that is supposedly to make you invincible, it can still stop the cast of your teleporting…
I’m not sure why you expected the bad affixes from NMD to be better in Vaults.
Drifting shade is the Worst ! lol. Maybe if by doing that you’d get better rewards or something then Maybe. Other then that , No way.
Learn how to position correctly your toon dude. Drift shade affix is easily avoidable.
I haven’t done a drifting shade dungeon since s1.
It isnt difficult to avoid doing them, and they are not mandatory to complete.
So….just don’t do them🤷🏻♂️. Break them down for mats.
I think it’s fun and challenging. It’s better than walk in + click button + room explodes = collect 13 chests of loot. That’s boring.
