I know you have to limit things, but do we have to replace a build aspect to make room for a vampire aspect? I know you can’t bring back armour pacts and all the mechanics involved, but couldn’t you made the vampire powers be gems you could slot in armour?
LOL yeah I just want my cake and eat it too, It would have been cool to have the return of vampire powers to enhance your builds instead of a build variant. But thanks for bringing them back nonetheless. And even allowing it in the Eternal Realm, that’s a definite plus I did not see coming!
Honestly I feel they should have been either at the start of the season or the start of next. I can see them being great for leveling but I don’t think I’ll use any of them in my current build for my barb nor my druid
Because most of the Aspects buff other classes that aren’t Barb/Druid.
Guaranteed Overpower every 20 seconds? Barb and Druid have that (and better!), especially Barbarian. But if you aren’t Barb/Druid, now you get some access to guaranteed OP.
Need an extra damage multiplier? Oh look, there’s Metamorphosis, which you can easily combine with Tibault’s. Barbs/Druids don’t really need it.
Your post is proof positive that anyone not named Barb just got a buff. As I said in another thread about a guaranteed Overpower every 20 seconds:
I’m not a popular streamer. As soon as one realizes how strong it is, expect some massively over dramatic shock face reaction video with some hyperbolic headline like “Fireball Sorc one-shots boss”.
I’m not disagreeing with you at all I’m sure they’re a welcome boost for a lot of people even some barbs. I was speaking only for myself. I would have loved to have seen them at the start of the season.
Same. I’ve actually advocated delaying season length time to 4 months rather than 3 if that would mean that all content (and MORE content) arrived with each Season.
I can see your point with that. Without a real end game 4 months would be a bit of a stretch for me. I suspect they actually had most of the vamp powers ready at the start of the season but decided the seasonal powers are a mid season release thing.
I don’t think they really intended for a return of the vampire powers. It was to bolster or deflect player attention from a lackluster season. We still got a month and a bit to season 4 and the gauntlet is coming oh so late that the devs needed something to kickstart player interest. The Gauntlet is a weekly event so there won’t be too many of them before Season 4 starts and like the Challenge Rift of D3, it’s not something most people are gonna keep doing over and over just to stay on top of the leaderboard.
They definitely did. They might not have known the exact form they would take (Uniques or Aspects, or which slots), but it was a foregone conclusion that some of the Vampire Powers would be returning - just like the Malignant Powers did.
I expect some of the Seneschal powers will be returning in S4 as either a Unique or various Aspects
My guess as it stands now?
Auto-potion
Breaking
Tactical (specific skill or tree)
Status Effects (Poison/Bleed/Vulnerable/Shadow/Cold/Burning) - either a specific skill or specific tree
Barrier
I can absolutely see various Aspects like Motorized Aspect of Burning: Lucky Hit: Your skills gain 50% of their damage as burning over 5 seconds.
For some builds, those would be quite nice aspects.
Agree here. Those new aspects are useless for most people, because there are better existing legendary/unique aspects in every slot. Not to mention uber uniques (who has them). As seasonal mechanics it worked well, because it was additional powers to existing gear. Blizzard proved once again, that they have no idea what they are doing.
and that’s a problem.
the game NEED choice.
If you could have everything you wanted without meaningful decision well…that would be meaningless wouldn’t it ? (i mean, what’s a build if it’s not based on decisions ? )
also, in my opinion, it was a mistake putting metamorphosis in boots , it’ll be the best by FAR , very FAR , aspect for boots in the game if you use thibault (which most builds do)
Adam Jackson talked about this in an interview with wudijo at Blizzcon, kinda. It was about unique VS legendary power, but the takeaway is the same, that they can be more creative with giving players more power if they can avoid power creep.
I’d rather them have introduced these new Aspects at the beginning of a Season rather than in the middle, and I suspect that Blizzard may have wished that they held off introduction until the PTR goes live and the creative player base had done some experimentation as to how these new Vampiric Aspects interacted with other skills/abilities/equipment.
Would have been better to make it a Unique Amulet and have 2 Blood Powers on them. Makes sense because the Amulet slot gives you a 50% bonus to any given Aspect so you are giving that up. You would also be giving up Banished Lords.
