Using Runes or Gems?

With all the changes/nerfs to runes, do you think they are even better than using the gems at this point? What will you be using for your builds?

warcry and petrify sucks already but they buffing up other stones.

Teb (Abhorrent Iron Maiden)

  • Rune version now deals 300% of base damage.

Tun (Stun Grenades)

  • Rune version damage increased from 20% to 260%.

Gotta catch em all to test em all

I think it’ll still be mixed with runes and gems. They’ll be tweaking values and adding more runes over time as well, so we’ll see what happens. Who knows they could not be worth it, but that just means they’ll change more in the future.

I like the idea of mixing them depending on the “challenge” than instead of setting one and you’re good forever. The latter is convenient though but boring.

Stupid phone autocorrecting what I typed, just noticed it in the quote. Also I agree with you.

Am i wrong or they also changed how main stat affects damage and is not as strong as in PTR anymore?

Reverted back to S5 values from the PTR. They had doubled it in the PTR and realized it was too strong, so it’s back to ‘normal’ so to speak.

Any rogue or necromancer mains will tell you for free that they wouldn’t be seen dead trading 300 core stat for that junk (iron maiden / stun grenades)

Unfortunately I think it’ll end up being exactly the same as the PTR, only instead of everyone picking the same two damage multiplier runes, everyone will pick the same two damage reduction runes (dark shroud and enduring cry both give 40% dr)

I didn’t notice it until you mentioned it lol. I read it gems and runes originally

Worst part is, it showed up twice as ‘times’ in the reply I made, before I edited it there wasn’t any ‘runes’ lol.

wow, is it?! glad to know that, fortunately this round the socketing will be hot swapping, don’t need to go through jeweler to unsocket.

Good call here. DR runes look to be the best of the bunch.
