Can someone explain the thinking behind using the horse to dash to the end bosses only to wait long enough that even the massive barbarian dude gets there before the bosses spawn.
Please explain!

Because you can? I don’t understand the question.
To each their own.
It’s just how their boat floats.
Because the bosses are on a timer, and they need to make sure there’s enough time for even the slowest to reach the boss… I thought that was pretty obvious. It’s a team event, not a race…
It’s a rhythm & reflex thing mostly.
I’ve done so many Legions - and many solo - that it becomes rote n’ routine when to use the mount and when not to, when to save dash charges, trap etc and when to use them.
If you’re talking about the Legion in Hawezar or the 1 long distant boss spawn(forget which Stronghold it was) - I use the mount to get a trap down and when boss spawns trap is back up. Pointless I know because the Bosses last about 5-15 seconds haha. …rhythm shrug…
Because it’s faster to get from one place to another and you save using teleport and dash/dodge for the actual fight
