I wanted to take a closer look at the free character boost, I clicked on the altar and there were 3 options. Since the window didn’t explain what these 3 options do, I just clicked on one.
Suddenly this option was simply applied to my character without warning. I don’t think that’s right at all, because I was considering using it on the spiritborn. I don’t have the addon, but theoretically it would have been possible, right?
Why can’t D4 explain what options do like other games and warn you before you use / activate something?
Save a few caches from the tree of whispers and have your new character open them. Boom! Instant level up to 25 and have a bunch of items for your new character when he reaches level 60. You only get 1 or 2 level upgrades per cache after level 30 and dwindles down to 1 level around level 45 ish.
I did this too, I boosted a barbarian to Level 60 in less than 5 minutes.
But the sad thing is, the Ancestrals.
I thought they patched it in Mid-Season that’s why I created another character.
But no they didn’t.
My barbarian still struggles in the pit and Torment 4
they’re letting people play the spiritborn all the way up to level 25 for free? damn, blizzard is being generous. that’s like one or two kills of the blood maiden and maybe even a helltide chest.
once they spend all those skill points people are going to have such a blast fighting the vigor system and waiting for all of the ancestral items to make a build work to never drop that i’m sure they’ll fork over the money for the expansion.
From what I heard SB excels at doing end game content. Getting to level 25 only takes a couple of hours with any class. Not sure limiting to the SB trial to lvl 25 is really useful. I would have offered instead to try during the same couple of hours a fully geared, Paragon 300 SB. That would have made everyone want to use the new class.
yeah, but you’re not missing out on too much time saved. should only take an hour or two just to get a new char to 50 anyways. just run some helltides.
Well, I had the same problem and the character I was leveling up (and didn’t want to boost) was totally changed and the game experience was ruined. I had to delete it, and I thought that this way at least all boost progress would be reset, but sadly no. And the worst of all is that I bought this game wanting to play it from the beginning, like anyone else, playing it at my own pace, even exploring, questing, finding and choosing each Lilith altar on my own, but I received the response that it is impossible to reverse that. I can’t undo the forced progress I never wanted. I believe that as players we should at least have the option (I repeat, OPTION with proper in-game warnings) to reset the eternal kingdom map progress once, and then if you want to reset it again, you would then have to pay for the service (because that It’s the only way it can be considered a game feature by the devs). I know it’s not the most popular opinion but sincerely i really don’t care if by choice for once i lost the gold, the obols, the materials, the items, the unlocked transmog, the dungeon progress and aspects unlocked, etc. And no, i clearly don’t want the seasonal perpetual reset applied in the eternal realm, that’s not what i mean in case someone considers the “there is a seasonal realm for that” answer. Buying the product again in a new account is kinda dumb, and also an unnecesary spent of money, in my humble opinion.
I agree, I am new player. I was level 8 excited to continue playing. saw quest marker, talked to a guy and boom I leveled up to level 50 before I knew. I was so pissed. No warnings, nothing. Such horrible design. First of all it shouldn’t be a quest in game. It should be an option from the Character selection menu. Whoever thought of putting it as a quest marker should be fired, either it was a lazy way to add it in or someone messed up big time. I mean no warnings either? Blizzard needs to address this. Boosting should be a MENU option not in-game quest marker that persists! New players like myself and others will activate it by mistake just by clearing quests and ruin their character.
Did the same thing . I clicked on it, because it looked like a new quest! And it was in the quest menu!! It ruined my character level and give me different abilities, and all Altars are claimed!!!
The boost is absolutely entirely useless. All of my eternal toons are 50 w/ 200+ paragon after the nerf.
I do not want to auto-respec my toon with your garbage-455 out-of-the-box options
60% OF THE GAME IS TO MAKE YOUR OWN BUILD, IDIOTS! -
… but that isn’t event the worst part:
The worst is, you can’t make a new EC and apply the boost AND/OR you can’t turn off Auto-Select for the garbage POS quest either! So every time you finish a tiny step in the expansion it reverts back to this stupid f’ing boost quest that I AM. NEVER. GOING. TO. USE!!!
SCREW YOU BLIZZARD - IS NE1 LISTENING!?!? TURN THIS GARBAGE OFF, WE DON’T WANT IT, WE DON’T NEED IT, BUT MOST IMPORTANT, WE NEVER ASKED FOR IT!
I spent several hrs a day to create a level 27 character. I had not played in some time but since my bro came in from out of country, I thought we’d spend some time playing. This stupid map icon kept interrupting my path of choice so to get rid of the darn thing I went to see what it was all about. Didn’t explain well and boom our characters were maxed out with no way of going back. I play games for the experience. This totally ruined our experience. Sure, my bro can go back and play a few hrs to get back, but I don’t have time due to having other priorities, and other games are also in my cycle. I remember why I put down this game now. I’m not going to start from scratch to re-create my character again.
