I might be ignorant and uneducated so please do correct me if I’m wrong but at the start of the beta in the first bit of play they’re speaking Slavic or some far east European tongue. My partner is Bulgarian so I know it’s not Bulgarian (I’m British) so what is it?
It matters little to my game but its just an observation. I have a few Ukrainian friends, 1 Latvian family member and 3 Lithuanian colleagues so I want to know what this accent is…

The entire first act is just basically Russia or former USSR state in culture and they speak with accents ranging from Polish to Russian and Slovenian.
So yes, there’s plenty of Russian accents. The Act 1 cities name is “Kyovashad” lmao

On many of the NPCs yes, they used Russian accents.

The voice work was almost definitely complete before Russia invaded Ukraine. That’s early production stuff.

Of course not all Russians are bad, but it can be hard to remember that sometimes when you come across so many online who are nationalistic and full on embracing the propaganda and war.
