I’m not sure, and I am certainly up for the discussion, but I believe that the Necro’s summon ability needs a bit of a tweek. I think it needs to be an ability that works two different ways:
-
Channel: 5 sec. Summon/Dismiss full army of warriors and mages regardless of corpses. 60 sec cooldown while in combat.
-
Consume Corpse: Instantly summon a skeleton. Up to a maximum of 4 skeletal warriors and 3 mages.
The idea here is that a necromancer has control over their skeletons at all times. Including in town. Even us Necros get tired of looking at our skeletons in town so why can’t we dismiss them and feel badass doing it? This also adjusts the playing field for Necros who play with skeletal armies that get wiped out. A lot of the Necro’s buffs depend on the size and strength of the army so if they get wiped you might as well be a naked n00b running flak in the raid.
The timing might be a bit off at 5 seconds. It feels like maybe a bit too much, but when I think of those goats with the freakin’ meat cleavers that serve you up in quarters it feels like too much. Just enough time to where you can drop some corpse tendrils and start the channeling. If you time it just right you should have the army up and a priest spent by the time the CC is worn off.
It could be left at something as simple as that, or that sacrifice system could be reworked to make it dynamic and play into this. Maybe have bonuses shift from Necro to army if army is up and back to Necro if down? I would love to hear what others think.
