Update concerns

So I’m an eternal realm player with some concerns…

When this update goes live, will all of my items become legacy items and have their item power reduced to like 540 or w/e like previous big changes??

I bought the ex-pac, in the middle of making my build and was having lots of fun. Then, this news kinda makes me not want to play until the patch comes out which is like over a month away… kinda a shame…

I haven’t played the PTR, dunno if I will. but, as someone who likes to min-max.. it seems way easier to get maxed gears right? i just have to find a 3 of 4 greater affix item, then it becomes a 4 of 4, and I don’t need to reroll craft and try to land all 3 procs because the procs are removed from my understanding. seems like maxing a gearset will actually be obtainable.. idk, i feel this is maybe too easy? it does seem more geared towards seasonal people wanting max gear. but for them who cares, they get massive power boosts and their characters are trash once season is over anyway…

my last concern is that if even if these currenty items on eternal become legacy, their item power drops, I hope it drops so much that they become obsolete. because if you have items which aren’t perfect, and can’t be farmed anymore, but are best-in-slot. then Im going to have a real problem about trying to enjoy playing and gearing in the game…

I play eternal because I don’t like resetting… I like spending hundreds if not thousands of hours trying to get perfect gear… this is why i loved diablo2 and diablo3… but with these gear resets…’legecy’ items… i hope the game will eventually balance out and this wont be a thing anymore… because why spend thousands of hours just to delete it and start over again… I hate this is happening multiple times, but understand the growing pains…

but yeah original question, has anything been said about if current items ( future legacy ) will have their item powers nerfed ? anyone know?

thanks~

Yes, got to gear up all your eternal toons (again).

definitely will become legacy, as previous affixes of resistances and armor are not compatible with S11. even eternal realm will still need to follow seasonal changes every round, so might as well play the seasonal.

i am 16 hours into ptr and can share with you some scaling, in approximation:
1100 resistances(of various kind) give 50% reduction,
2000 give 62%,
4500 give 75%.

Even if I had to start regearing because of this current gear becoming obsolete, I think Ill have to pass and stay on eternal.

Why ? a few reasons;

  1. I wont have to campaign again.
  2. I won’t have to find aspects again.
  3. I won’t have to start paragon levels all over again.
  4. If I did go seasonal, I’d prolly want to sanctify my items, which may/maynot delete the items when season ends? (Hopefully they just remove the bonus for those peeps)
  5. I’m wanting to play now. not wait 1month+
  6. I won’t have to ditch all these crafting materials.
  7. I won’t have to ditch all these boss materials.
  8. I won’t have to ditch all this gold.

etc etc…

That’s why It’s hard for me to leave.. It’s not a full reset but it’s better than starting over (to me)

I’m also not a fan of like.. ‘omg, I love this season and my character, I want to keep playing’ and then they say season is over, and you’ll never get to play that content ever again. I’d rather just keep the core experience.

sounds like all gear will become obsolete. which is a good thing because if legacy items ever became best in slot, we’d have some really weird balancing issues with builds.

I always want to be able to farm whatever is best in slot.

( this is why I think PoE sucks, their economy is hyper inflated, builds are straight broken etc etc.. ) sick game, but once you do it once or twice… it gets old fast knowing your driving on a deadend road.
