i run a straight lightning build but when i cast unstable currents it summons only fire familiars. the familiar skill states it is supposed to be an element of the last skill cast. so it should be lightning but it’s not. i do not have the sub skill to rotate the elements. i hope this gets fixed soon as it impairs the build. it also looks dumb having fire familiars follow you around when all you use is lightning. thank you for your time and energy.

I have the same problem, but in my case the fire familiar appears after using cold magic, such as the ice shield and the frost nova. After ice splinters instead summon the right familiar (cold). Please fix it, it’s unusable this way

The seem to work properly if you slot the skill into your build, but I don’t think that’s a fair solution. Hopefully they patch it to track as if it were slotted, at least it sounds that easy, can’t really say for sure.
