Unskippable cutscenes

Need to be able to skip ALL cutscenes…

Edit: Just so people stop saying “Hold ESC”. I already know that! The problem is it doesn’t always work!

Fix: Alt+Tab (x2)

Escape key. Tells you that down in lower right corner. Also scroll wheel up advances through NPC dialogue. Or use escape to skip those, also. How are people not picking up on this? The instructions are there on screen.

There was a particular cutscene that could not be skipped. The one after you give the captain Vigo’s Report.

Also there is a lot of unskippable pointless exposition.

I played the Beta all weekend, I played solo and with friends. Solo i had no problems. However, when either playing Duo’s or with three people one of us would always find ourselves unable to skip ANY cutscenes. As i stated Solo was no problem. SO Yes i know about holding the ESC key and I also know other you hit the left click a bunch to skip through them etc. Nothing worked. It was impossible to skip ANY cutscenes. This was a serious bug I hope Blizzard addresses. It was so bad at times we started joking that we had found a new dungeon, one full of loot with no mobs because while stuck at a cutscene the rest of the group continued on and killed everything. So when the scene ended and i could continue all i found was an empty dungeon with a bunch of loot lying around.

Need to be able to skip all dialogue, Waiting for people to jabber on for a minute gets old.

Agreed. On my 3rd start of the game and I want to skip all the scenes but not all of them can be skipped.

Same issue for me here. Forced into cutscenes to ensure I get a disconnect. The wheel of life turns.

Seems to be a bug

You need to hold down ESC for 2 seconds or so, in case you are just tapping it or something…

I remember that everyone had to skip a cutscene in Diablo Immortal and that may have carried over to this game. It sounds like you were solo so I’m not sure if this applies. As other people have said, you can hold escape to skip. I skipped past the story on the first weekend, so I’m trying to avoid doing it this time around.

Alt-tab/ minimize the game and maximize again. This happened to me last week a few times but after doing that the ESC at the bottom was showing and I could skip the cutscene. Btw all of them are skippable.

Confirming th bug. I reproduced this during my necro run.

Some NPC dialogues/cut scenes have no ESC key tip in the corner, and ESC does nothing. Need to listen though EVERYTHING without possibility to speed it up, no mouse click, no ESC. And yes, I know about holding ESC 2 seconds, because it works everywhere else, but some dialogues become bugged and nothing could stop them.

Just reproduced this, I have exact details:
Quest Prologue: Wandering 7/7 Rite of Passage, just before this quest, we have previous one 6/7, when Lorath waits for me to speak with him near Defaced Statue of angel Inarius. Conversation with Lorath cannot be stopped by any means, but Alt+Tab to another window and back, suddenly makes ESC option appear again and cutscene can be cancelled.

If you miss your window at the dialog box that starts a cutscene, you should still be able to Esc out of it, and yes with just the Esc key. This rates as a major annoyance, because then you have to let it play out.

Never have an issue skipping cutscenes with the controller.

Ya, there was definitely a glitch that made some cutscenes unable to be skipped. That needs to be fixed, 100%. Same goes for non-cutscene dialogue interactions with NPCs… sometimes the skip option just failed.

I would also be in support of a menu option to ‘skip all cutscenes’.

ESC almost NEVER skipped cut scenes. At best, it slowed some down and only once in a while did the cutscene actually end and get out of the way.

Cutscenes need a toggle - same with dialog. And SPACE BAR should be the scene / dialog skip button; ESC is to get to the game menu – which I got to far more often than skipping cut scenes.

Did you hold it down for a second? Or just tap it? It works on most cutscenes and dialogue. A few story essential ones it doesn’t, but… ESC does work on cutscenes.

If you dont disable your windows Key, they you can Windows Key then click and hold escape.

Holding ESC down for seconds usually ended in opening the game menu, not really skipping cutscenes.
