Unplayable PIT - Horrible Backtracking issue!

In the “PIT”, whenever you die at the Boss your spawn point is basically 1 portal back OR at the start of the map portal where you spawned the Boss portal.
If this is not fixed mid season patch, i will stopp playing.

There is literally no way that people having fun with this absolut horrible game design.

Compared to the nightmare dungeon run back, it’s really not that bad. A minor annoyance maybe, but unplayable is a reach.

Not that bad? its worse than NM dungeons.
Some times you spawn 1 Portal back.
So you need to move to the portal what usually is also easy 5-20 seconds.
Than you go threw the portal and YOU NEED TO travel on the other side of the map to your boss portal.
LIKE WHAT IN THE HELL IS THAT.

Obviously if you dont die that often on a boss because you play the immortal trash meta than you dont experience that. But if you dont and you push high PITs and you die, you will know.

This PIT Backtracking design is probably one of the worst game design i have ever seen in a game.

And i played all seasoned ALOT.

It’s annoying and hopefully they do fix it. But I don’t think it’s “I’m going to quit over it” level of annoying.

Calm down bud. It will be ok. Even if you multiply the 3 seconds it takes to get back by 45 deaths it’s only about another 2 minutes or so of gameplay. Spread over 45 deaths. Nothing is broken and the sky is not falling.

I see what you mean but its subjective what you said. Even though my experience is also subjective the generell game design of the backtracking in the PIT after you died at the boss is absurdly horrible.
Lets say i only play PIT my experience is way different.
Thats why i said if you play a broken net build you will not experience things like that.
But if you try experiment with things and you play your own no immortal build, ITS WAY different.

I don’t play a broken net build I built mine myself.

I don’t want to sound like a “get gud” person but I feel that building your own build is not a good reason for your build to be sub optimal. If I feel I’m taking too much damage to adjust the build to account for it, if I’m not doing enough damage I try to figure out how to improve that.

I feel a big issue is people plug in their skill points and paragon points and that’s it they’re done with their build and never touch it again.

So when they keep dying over and over they never change anything so it becomes a case of doing the same thing and expecting different results.

I mean you trying to argue about me when the issue is not on my side just because i die on the higher pit bosses has nothing to do with how bad the game design of the backtracking is.

The next point is you guessing that somone has an not optimal build and is not trying to improve it. All your points are a non factor and nonsense while arguing about a horrible game design.

So my advice for you is to set back and learn what is a logic discussion/arguing flow.

As I stated in my original reply, it’s annoying and needs to be addressed. I don’t think it’s by design but an unintentional thing which kinda makes it worse. The conversation kinda got sidetracked somewhere and started talking about not dying as the fix, which k don’t agree with the backtracking is still an issue. But yea I did get sucked into the other part of the conversation and got sidetracked myself.

I was trying to not to single anyone out and speak generally. Obviously each person’s experience varies.

Placing the respawn for when you die against a boss on another map is odd. Placing the respawn point a significant distance from the portal to the boss is equally bizarre. You’re already being penalized for dying. Requiring a walk back to the portal and a reload screen seems a bit much.

Don’t die?

Summary

moo

It’s like a timeout. Think about what you did wrong during your walk of shame.
:innocent:

d3 is better at that
you have a set amount of times to res exactly at your body
after that you have to res after the last loading screen
and if you die inside a boss room, you res outside right at the entrance of that room

there is already a time punishment for dying, it seems there is no need to double it

and if you think the 30s time punishment is too soft, double it and fix the back tracking

I would like to think about what I did wrong. But sometimes it’s just -splat-, and D4 has no combat log. What happened? What debuffs did I have? I don’t know. I’m dead (or revived).

Other times, I clearly see what killed me. “You stood here, when you obviously should have been there.”

There’s actually a really good work around for this.

So what you have to do is not die and this wont happen anymore.

I’ll do you one better! If the backtrack is to much! I wish the PIT would just play itself and give me rewards!

Pit should be a mirror of greater rift, keep going trough dense maps level after level until you kill enough to summon boss, after that decide to or not keep going for more loot, gold, mats, while slightly buffing monsters each time u down a boss and get more stuff for it each time, basically make it “endless”…also change the stupid boss design they got for pit bosses

The light humor went over your head I think.

Totally agree, although such “small” issues won’t destroy the game, but really make me feel very bad, it should be fixed!

Bravata is that you?
