Spending resources does not increase duration of the soulrift.
additionally, gaining essence will very infrequently trigger the damage effect.
tried with all variants and the problem seems to affect all of them. even tried equipping aspect of torment to increase resource recovery rate to see if the damage proc triggers more often and it does not.
pretty disappointing that so much functionality of this item is not working properly.
