My seasonal Diablo 4 Hard core Barbarian was killed last night by an Unknow Killer. I was in T3 doing the seasonal headhunts. Full health to instantly deleted. I have read that this had been a common issue with Barbarians using earthquake and possibly barrier. The only thing new I had done recently, I had equipped 2 of the starter occult gems (Toadling’s Wish & Wicked Pact) and I didn’t have twilight warding equipped. I know its HC but if they game doesn’t know what killed you (a bug) then it should be restored, which I understand it won’t. I’ve read numerous forum threads and no Blizzard employees even respond from what I’ve seen.
Keep pushing, who knows somewhere in time this bug will be solved…
I appreciate the positivity. I’ve never completed a HC campaign. I was wanting to try complete HC challenges.(91% total challenges complete) After reaching level 46 with a Barb, I made a new one to do the seasonal content to unlock witchcraft powers, whispers and torments. I don’t think I’ll be playing again on HC until they can confirm that this bug is gone. I have other games to play then to spend 32 hours on character to die for a reason they can’t explain. Sadly, I’m the only one of my friends still playing and after this its difficult to attempt to play a broken game.
The bug appears to be related to shields of any sort… the Witch power is the most obvious this season but there are several others. I lost one toon when my merc popped a shield.
So for now you have to play HC without shielding… only armor, resists, and healing. Which really sucks when you thought you had 100% uptime on your shields and could use it to get 25-30% damage boosts.
