Uniques? Where on Sanctuary?

I don’t get it, why keep calling “uniques” to gear that has multiple copies of the EXACT same “UNIQUE”???
It’s kind of stupid, no?
Dev’s, simplify and remove the “uniques” from the gear…

Plain and simple:

  • Normal
  • Magic
  • Rare
  • Legendary
  • Ancestral
  • Mythic

Is that hard?

Each unique item type has a unique arrangements of statistics compared to the randomness of regular items. The item itself is not unique.

Beyond that, it’s a name for a tier of gear. In a video game. About getting loot. Why would any item be truly one-of-a-kind?

EDIT: Took out unnecessary jab. Sorry, haven’t had my coffee yet

Read what i wrote. I don’t want to have unique items in game, i want them to not name them so stupid.

By default, Ancestral and Mythic items are already uniques…

For instance, why don’t they call them Uniques Awesome Master Ancestral???

Sorry, my just 5 cents…

You know this is a thing in D2 too right? Item tiers that is. Normal, exeptional and elite. Sets wlare also unique items tiered the same way. Though the difference is that certain uniqes are tied to certain item tier, because the base items are also tiered. And you could have multiple copies of the same unique in the same tier. Or your problem is that in D4 all uniques can roll in all item tiers? Like there can be a normal Banished Lord’s and an ancestral Banished Lord’s?

I did, and I gave you both a reasonable justification for why they are called uniques, and the actual reason why it’s just a word and does not matter. You’re free to not like that, but that doesn’t make it untrue or non-applicable.

Now it’s possible I’m not understanding something, because these statements are contradictory:

Because the first is saying you don’t want them at all, the second you are just saying you are okay with them but not how they are named.

The first statement, fine, let’s discuss that. The second? Not to be mean, but “get over it.” It’s just a tier name. And they are distinct in functionality from Legandaries and Ancestral Legendaries, and they do need a different name.

Sorry, i disagree…

It’s like stating “Hey, look at my Ferrari F1 SF-24 2024 1.6L V6 850+160Hp”, when it’s just a Ferrari F1 2024…

Your post reads more as a demand not an opinion while it’s fine if you disagree with how blizzard names the category of items demanding them change it is going to go nowhere

They are called Unique as a reference to D2 because, just like in that game they have non random stats. Not to be confused with non random rolls of said stats. Unlike the legendaries that are a combination of an aspect and a rare item with random stats. In d3 where they were first introduced, legendaries still had a mixture of fixed and random stats in addition to the fixed signature power that gave the item its identity.

They did make them unique then ppl screamed that they didn’t drop enough so they increased it

Then they changed uber uniques to mythics

Now ppl are complaining that their not unique anymore :joy::joy::rofl:

Actually, they have never been unique, rare yes not unique.

They were when the game first came out……ish :joy:

Most uniques will be unique as they have broad ranges but I get your point.

A better way to do loot would have been:

White - removed from game
Magic - removed from game
Rare - no change
Legendary - no change
Artifact - renamed uniques
Epic - purple. Epic items have 1 epic affix so 5 total affixes. The extra epic affix is economy or non character power related. Mythics cannot be epic.
Mythical - red beam not purple anymore
Alternate Cosmetic Mythical - Flashing red - same as mythicals but with alternate look
