I’ve been running nightmare dungeons to hunt for unique items and the sad part is, most of them are useless for me because they don’t scale to my level. Let’s take the Mad Wolf’s Glee as an example. Amazing unique. Perfect for any wolf skill build. I got one in my 60s and it’s an absolute stunner.
Problem is, I’ve gotten four others after that in my 70s and 80s and they aren’t worth swapping out for. The stats are atrocious. Not only is this weakening me and putting me at a disadvantage as I level up, but it also makes unique items less desirable.
Please make them scale. They should always be impressive and be better than legendary gear.
I don’t even feel conflicted when I sell/dismantle uniques anymore.

They do scale, same as anything else, they have sub 725 bracket and over 725+ bracket (upgrade can change bracket of the item) for stat range while their armor/dps scales on per IP basis.

Oh, but why have my non-upgraded uniques that I got in my 80s been sub-par and very close to what I’ve gotten between 60s-70s? They’re not even worth upgrading.
sometimes you just got lucky early on.
my first vasyl’s prayer was 801 ancestral and the next ones that dropped were never as good.
Your character level is irrelevant so I don’t know why you’re focused on it. Item power is all that matters.
If the item power is under 725, it’s likely worse than anything above 725. The rolls over 725 can be higher rolls than under 725. The only time item power matters above 725 is if the unique has ‘flat numbers’, non percentages’, as part of the unique power. This can scale up with item power.
If the item is between 700-724, you can upgrade to surpass the 725 breakpoint and bump/reroll the stats on the item to be potentially higher rolls.

Because you can get max quality gear the moment you enter WT4 (ease, even THE SIX, if you go straight into correct NM, but that’s nearly irrelevant, I just expected someone to bring it as technicality).
Your end game starts with WT4, your levels are indeed paragon levels, only requirement that really matters is lv 60 for Ancestral gear (to be able to equip it, you can obtain it sooner). I am sure we will be getting WT5 soon with recommended level 80 and next item tier.
Also Armor stat and DPS stat scale on per IP basis, IP 820 weapon will have bit bigger damage than IP 800 weapon. Same for armor, for jewelry it is completely irrelevant, anything past 725 can be prefect jewelry.
True, arguably the armor gains are irrelevant for the most part as well. Not completely, but not as impactful as sacrificing properties on an item. Weapon, definitely higher item power is relevant for DPS but also not as impactful as properties to an extent. Like a 795 weapon with good rolls is better than an 820 weapon without 4 good rolls on it.
I just wish they could calculate attack power more accurately in a way to reflect actual dps gains, but honestly it’s impossible with all of the conditional damage types.
Yup yup, honestly I feel like what I really need is Target dummy. Ofc, perfect 1:1 calculator would solve it, but I could do with Mob and Boss dummies.
