Not sure how to fix this, still . . . but would like some help if anyone else has thoughts.
What I’ve done:
1.) Uninstall Razer Software
2.) Create firewall/security exceptions
3.) Reinstalled the game on a different drive
4.) turned off Discord Hardware acceleration, and also shut down discord
5.) Verified drive integrity with an error check
6.) Systematically disabled active running software
7.) installed latest windows and driver updates
My Rig is:
i9 13900k, RTX3090 Kingpin, 128GB Gskill, with Windows 10 Pro 19045, on an Asus Rog Strix Z790-E Wifi Gaming mobo and 4 WD 4TB WD_BLACK SN850X SSDs in non-raid config. Running all default clocks for CPU, Memory, and GPU.
This game worked beautifully during the Beta. I don’t know what else to think.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
u didn’t messed with your UAC? or may be ur mouse have macros in it that blizz don’t want?
UAC is second highest and I haven’t changed it. No macros on the Mouse.
Are you using the Debugging Tool from Microsoft? If not do a search C0000005 and you will find learn.microsoft and it will explain everything.
put it in default
if u installed bnet, and u installed d4 from there, it will promt or ask u where to install the file in your drive, after that make sure u don’t change the pathing again. idk
-
run as admin on bnet / d4
-
if u are using antivirus make sure u excempt the drive where all the games are located, so it doesn’t constantly scan it.
-
go to your docs, delete old d4 folder
-
go to bnet, > delete config
-
go to main d4 folder > data , delete conflig
-
open bnet, repair d4
if it still didn’t work, download gforce and update your gpu.
if that still didn’t work for this game, try install another game, in same drive where d4 is located, if running that different game work the problem is in bliz, if it didn’t lunch or have graphical error or whatever error promt, then the problem is in that drive security.
oh i forgot, enable hidden files , find “applications / app” in user, go to local or roaming, if u see any blizz/d4 delete it all.
a forum post with help from a blue in d2 ended up being resolved by creating a new windows administrator account.
Diablo 2 Access Violation c0000005 - Classic Games Tech Support - Blizzard Forums
not ideal but i’d try it i guess.
(maybe i’d try “run as administrator” first because i’m lazy)
Just event viewer and reading D4’s logs at the moment.
donwload ccleaner, don’t install the antivirus that comes with it, click optional/customize. don’t rush it, read every tabs b/c it will sneak something in there. once u installed it, go to clean registry and purge everything that pops in there so when u do reinstall anything, it won’t automatically path the whatever old program u are using to their old settings.
Nice troubleshooting. I’ll give those a shot.
