Underwhelming abilities here

Here are some skills that are very weak and why not use them.

Ground stomp - there are so many other sources of somewhat reliable stun, more frequent and don’t take a skill slot, runes are joke, easily most useless skill on board

Iron skin - having to lose HP for this to take appropriate effect is questionable, when the skill is supposed to reduce your HP loss, it shouldn’t be missing life and it needs unstoppable rune badly, instead of shout, same the DR from challenging shout should be probably here

Charge - that skill is underwhelming incarnate, aside from unstoppable being able to escape out of CC it’s garbage

Steel grasp - this could be both fun and useful for certain builds, unfortunately the pull effect was so unreliable, I couldn’t execute it half the time, otherwise it be nice skill

Rupture - this should really scale some dmg rather than just cooldown

Iron maelstrom - I don’t have any particular thoughts on this, it’s just that other two ultimates are so damn much better

*Lunging strike - that is category in itself, the movement on this is everything you ever wanted for your melee char, hard to justify using any other skills even if its related to your build you’d still go Lunge instead

Ground stomp is actually good. You can reduce its cd to like 7 seconds and buff its stun duration to 5-6 seconds. It also reduces ult cooldown.

Iron maelstrom got buffed and works well for map content/helltides and up to t60 nm dungeons. It is amazing for wave events. Berserk still better for pushing hard content.

Ancients actually suck and do no damage.

Upheaval sucks and does no damage.

Upheaval oneshoting packs, Ancient biggest dps from all 3 ultimate, for 7 seconds stomp it will have to be lvl 14 and have 30% cdr, maelstrom is locked to walking arsenal for appropriate benefit

Upheaval sucks and anyone can one shot packs in the overland map and ancients suck or are bugged because last i used them they couldnt kill white mobs in a helltide.

D4 always have conditions and caveats to everything.

Blizz probably think it is fun…

Iron skins is good by itself.

With aspect of iron warrior it becomes amazing.

With CDR a roughly 10-11 second cool down of unstoppable. A big shield once you start stacking health. A big heal once you start stacking health. You can invest a measly 3 points and get good returns.

It’s only downside is the aspect fits on a helm/chest/pants slot. But still an amazing ability for it’s frequent unstoppable alone.

As someone leveling, I feel like our builders are all kind of underwhelming. Bash is restricted to blunt only, so if you don’t come across a nice hammer or mace it isn’t worth using. Flay is a dot and seems best suited for dot builds. The dual wield strike is okay, but only hits one thing. Lunging strike is the only thing not restricted by weapon type.

Like, I dunno, compared to D3 where you had bash and frenzy for single target and all their modifiers, throw for ranged, cleave for AoE, all their modifiers and various interactions with legendaries and abilities. That, and you could use them with any weapon type. Slashing, blunt, dual wield, 2H, didn’t matter.

I just haven’t been able to find a builder that feels “fun” or “good” to use. I know lunging strike is GOOD, but I don’t always want that “dart around the battlefield like crazy” flavor, I have Rogue for that.

I guess my complaint isn’t so much balance-related but more that the arsenal system is a bit awkward for leveling based on what weapons you find. That, and the overall gameplay “feel” of the abilities.
