As of last night anytime I go to respec abilities the game locks up with the 3 diamond patterns above my character’s head and I’m no longer allowed to interact with anything. This is solved by restarting the D4 client.

Same here. Im trying to respec and it freezes as you describe.
It resolves when i restart but when i do the same thing again, it freezes.
Im stucked playing misplaced abilities. I cant play my character anymore
Can somone help us? Or knows how we can communicate to the devs about this?
This is the onpy time im free and i want to play my barb. If this isnt resolve, my next free time for D4 will be 2 months away
