Hey D4 Fam
I can’t find information on this anywhere.
I am very excited to play D4 with my friend at launch.
Info:
My friend will come over to my house and play the Diablo Early access together on PS5 Couch Co-Op. for a few days.We both own the Ultimate Edition on our Battlenet PC Accounts. Additionally I own a Ultimate Edition on my PS5 Console/PS5 Account.
Questions:
1:
Can we play couch Co-Op together on the early access launch? Or does he need to own his own Diablo Ultimate Copy on the new PS5 account he is going to create to play with me on my PS5?
2:
Can he play alone on my PS5 and group up with me if I change over to a PC as we sit next to each other?
He would then log in alone on the PS5 on his own new PS5 account, which is connected to a Ultimate Edition from his Battlenet PC account. But he does not own any Diablo edition on that new PS5 account he is creating or even a PS5 online subscription.
Would he need to own his own PS5 Ultimate copy and/or a PS5 online sub?
This is my childhood friend, and I really want everything to go smooth now that we are going to meet up and play the Diablo 4 Launch together after a long time of waiting.
I tried searching far and wide for specific information, but no luck.
Thank you for your time.
Bless the mother Lilith.
If you already plan on doing this, why not just let him use the computer while you play on the PS5? He can log onto his account on your pc and play while you use the PS5 and sit together.

True. I know your point. Thing is, I’m not the greatest Diablo player on PS5. He has a lot of experience with Diablo on PS4/PS5/console in general.
It’s just so we both have a good experience on launch.
I’m a perfectionist, so want everything to be ready beforehand.
Sad that I can’t find answers to pretty easy questions… blizzard should make a easy FAQ about how it all works with the different editions and couch co-op or console play with regards to early access launch and stuff. I’ve seen a lot of other people wondering as well.
Well, to answer your questions, you only get early access for the platform you buy the ultimate/deluxe edition on. So if he wanted to use the PS5 while you played on PC you would have to buy him deluxe/ultimate so he could play early on it. I am unsure how the early access affects couch co-op.
What you could do is try playing couch co-op and seeing if it works, and if it doesn’t either buy the deluxe/ultimate for him or do as I suggested and play on the PS5 while he uses the PC. Since you already have it and will have downloaded it, you can wait until it doesn’t work before buying it for him if you want to do it that way and it won’t delay you at all and may save you 90$.

True. I will do that.
So you can buy the Early access even after it starts?
Thank you for putting some clarity too it KaZe.
Have a great day.
The early access is part of the ultimate/deluxe edition so it should still be available. Even if they were considered pre-order bonuses, the game doesn’t actually come out until the 6th.
Also, no problem, have a good day as well.

No need to buy any extra copy of the game. I think you can just enable game sharing on your PS5. Then your friend just login to his PSN on your PS5 and he should be able to access the game.

Oh really? Thank you for that tip! I’m new to the PS5 so will check out “enabling game sharing”. Thank you friend.
EDIT: I checked on the PS5 and it seems to be enabled by default
your friend needs to have a PSN account and link that PSN to his battlenet account. Actually I’m not 100% sure that early access works for game sharing Diablo 4 on PS5. So far I can’t find any official answer that it works. Guess we will only find out on 1st June. Worse come to worse, he can play on your PC while you play on PS5.

True. Thank you for the tips friend.
I’m hoping it will work with early access. Did buy the best edition on ps5 afterall… and its game sharing on the ps5 as you said… hmm.
