I purchased the ‘Ultimate Edition’… When they released D4 I spent way more than I really needed. This way I’d get the little odds and ends that would come along.
This is why… Now they’re going to finally release the new class and area ‘finally’…
But the fact that Many of us spent more to get that Ultimate Edition seems to mean nothing. We should at least get the base character and map.
do you mean we should get that for the (VoH)xpac because we bought the D4(base game) ultimate edition?

You got those. You got your odds and ends.
No. You don’t get a free character 1+ year out.
As for free maps:
- AoZ (if you played S2)
- Vaults (if you played S3)
- The Gauntlet
- Infernal Hordes
Wish fulfilled!
You got early access to the base game plus a bunch of goodies. Stop crying already.

In fairness - I bought 6 pizzas from Domino’s, earned 60 loyalty points, and redeemed those for a free pizza two years later.
But Blizzard has no loyalty program - so I digress!

lies. loyalty points expire long before the two year mark. i call shenanigans.
I’ve never had Domino’s expire. I think I’ve got 800+. We do a weekly pizza night, and that’s the only close place. The only time I get an extra (free) pizza is if I have guests over. Math says… we’re lonely.
Chik Fil A hasn’t expired, either. But that gets an asterisk, because they devalued them by like 40%.
You’re argument suffers from the presentism fallacy. The included features and benefits of the D4 editions were clearly spelled out, and you bought them. They were worth the price then or you wouldn’t have shelled out your cash.
We all know the price of games plummets at some point after release. Now, in the present, you’re looking back and deciding you’d have rather waited. That’s not blizzard’s fault, and while I’m not a fan of the concept of blame in general, the truth is you made the decision to purchase at that time and that price. If blame must be assigned it rests in your mirror, not Blizzard.
I paid full price for D4 Ult edition as well, in fact I preordered it. I knew full well the price of the game within a year would be on sale. They never get more $$ than at release. I’ve also preordered the expansion knowing full well there will be sales and bundles later on.
So why did I buy? Because the hours I spend playing the game give me incredible value. Game Price / Hours Played is pennies. No other form of entertainment is as cheap. If we’re going to complain about the value of entertainment we are totally barking up the wrong tree here.
