Barb seems to be the only class that can’t skip the majority of the mechanics.
Barb is pretty far behind atm (generally a little over 8:00 in terms of kill time), but I’m wondering if there is perhaps another Barb spec that can compete?

The other classes seem to have single target damage off any charts while we just run around poking her for 6-12 minutes.
Silly some people still say that barb is OP.

they should just make hota do like… more dmg if its on a single target.
if i was gonna do 5m to things around me. make me 30m to single target.
then maybe barb can compete with single target.

Because rend barb doesn’t exist. GW just won’t scale much and ignore all conditional procs.
Yeah the no ult (kick or chains) seem to be outperforming the WotB or CotA variants.
The fastest Barb kill I could find was using chains. It’s a shame chains doesn’t work better in dungeons. The pulling is sometimes buggy and it has a long animation lock that often kills you.
It’s noticeably quicker. I think you’re right that the consistent extra Vulnerable procs and Berserk procs overall do more damage than the huge once a minute damage dump you get from Wrath or CoTa. It think chains outperforms kick because you can spec it to also give you berserk. The result is that it guarantees a very high percentage of your HotAs are performed with berserk, and on a vulnerable target.
Most of the builds seem to use Flay over Lunging Strike.

The new Shred/Stormcalw Werewolf Druid build has the same “problem”.
Stormclaw says it does 30% of the Shred’s Crit damage as an AoE, but in practice the stormclaw hits seems to hit 2-3 times as hard as the shred crits, so more like 300%. The build itself is potentially BiS for speed clearing NM80+, but it’s clunky to have to target the little normal mobs with shred so that the storm claw AoEs hit the elite you’re really trying to kill.
Hopefully barb gets some love soon
You realize you can invest 3 points for longer Berserk time guaranteed for Kick and it applies to Leap? Leap, Ground Stomp, Kick , Iron Skin, *Basic (I like Bash with 2 1H Maces for Fortify, Stuns, and Mortal Draw), HoTA.
Kick and Ground Stomp resetting Leap you do not need to take Giant Strides. Your Leap is always up and you will have a ton of Fury. Permanent Berserk and high Vuln uptime. Coming patch makes Leap Quake much stronger. You can hit 50% Damage increase on a 2H.
With big groups, Chains is nice, but because it is buggy meh. If you have Exploit and Leap, you won’t really miss the enemies gathered that much with Chains. Takes a little more positioning. Chains is nice but does not really synergize well. I mean, you can get 3 Charges if you feel your CDR and Exploit alone does not give you high enough Vuln uptime. It is 100% with 3 Charges.
Nice gameplay. Let me miss my main ability so it does more damage.

I don’t really care for skipping mechanic… but you won’t find barbs killing uber lilith right right now
Barb seems too weak, lets give 2 more fury per hit to your primaries

While buffing necro, Druid, and rouge and increasing the health of all bosses by 100-200%.
But hey, that +2 fury generation is going to send us barbs to the moon.
That berserk change on upheaval is gonna make uber possible guys watch!
