Just found myself one with GA on the DR. I have rerolled 12times now cant seem to hit DR. should I just give up and be happy with the max resist to all?
Absolutely you should run them hordes to get enough mats saved up, it’s worth it get the dr
I have a Tyrael’s Might with one masterwork on Damage Reduction and two masterworks on Max Resistances raising my resistances almost to the max cap of 85%. My all res is actually 84.6%.
I think this is fine if you have another source of Damage Reduction. A Shako has 20% DR, Axial Conduit can have 15% DR, ect. There are a lot of sources of DR but not a lot of sources that raise the max all resistances.
suggest to hit 2 crits on DR and 1 crits on max resistance for 80%+ capped.
There is a 1/64 chance to get it to proc on the same thing 3 times. I was.lucky and got the DR triple on my 3rd attempt but I tried on my grandfather and got nothing 10 times.
Don’t forget if you are running Esau’s that movement speed = crit chance. To me the only bad roll is resistance to all (which of course I hit on my 12/12).
absolutely. when firing up, reaching 100% crit chance already.
This is the way. Since his Damage Reduction (DR) is already GA, and there’s diminishing returns on stacking DR, it’s more effective to maximize resistances twice and DR once.
Edit: I think depends on class. Sorc has passive to increase max resist as well?
Yes. I got 2x on DR and its amazing.
I have 2 MW crits on DR (making it 39%) and one to maximum resists. Totally worth it IMO.
2 crits on maximum resists and 1 on DR would be good too.
That’s really up to you, but if you already have a GA on DR, it seems it would be a waste to not capitalize on that.
Are you dying?
If yes, reroll. If not, why bother?
I think going 2x @res for 84.6 @res and 1x DR for 34%DR is my favorite outcome.
This is the best outcome for having only one ga
It depends on your goal. I got a TM that never rolled anything in DR.
I have no problems with it on T7 and T8 with S tier builds. Why you guys need perfect MW DR anyway?
Basically this. I think even with a perfect roll, if you face tank a Desecrator you will still die.
Best way to mitigate damage against that is not face tank it all.
Even if you can facetank one, why?
If you blow 50 million or so on masterwork rerolls, log out, close game, log in. Try again.
This game had the worst rng initial conditions per instance that ive ever seen. Ex: I tempered hydra heads on a wand. Started masterworking. Burned like 235 million on resets trying to get the first crit to hit hydra heads. Logged out, logged in, got it within like 3 more resets. The code is likely just poorly written.
Hit that double Resistance to roll to reach that 85% cap and the one point into DR if you lucky.
There’s no diminishing returns on Damage Reduction.
The formula is multiplicative per source, however, every source counts properly to decrease your incoming damage. It is NOT ADDITIVE. (There is a cap of 85%, however).
The formula is 1 - [(1-dr1) (1-dr2) (1-drn)]
Example:
-
Having 50% DR from a single source:
Take 100 incoming damage
Reduce by 50% (50)
You take 50 damage -
Having 2 seperate sources of DR:
Take 100 incoming damage
Reduce by 25% (25) - take 75 incoming damage
Reduce by 25% (18.75) - take 56.75 incoming damage
In Example 2), each DR% does indeed exactly what it says. It reduces your incoming damage by 25% seperately. There’s no “diminishing returns” as each value operates at the stated amount.
A diminishing returns system would mean at a certain point, each value amount reduced in effectiveness, regardless of source. So for instance, every value of the single 50% might work as stated up to 20%, then operate at 1/2 from 20-30%, then 1/3 from 30-40%, then 1/6 from 40-50%, etc. Thus the higher total value reduces in effectiveness. This is usually used in additive systems to prevent reaching 100%.
I yesterday found 3 GA Tyraels. Since everything is already pretty high, what makes most sense to masterwork further? I think max. res caps at 85% right? GAs are on MS, Max Res and DR. So all on DR?
