Two ARPGs, Two Completely Different Visions: what is your takeaway?

this is not even remotely a concern for me… I play to entertain myself, and that generally means collecting stuff. I literally give zero Fs about competitive play of any type.

I also regret buying the expansion… but less than I would supporting a monetization model that relies on limiting storage.

My takeaway/plan is to play both, but:

  • Only play D4 for a week or so as the content is not rewarding and there is only a 1 build per class per season that is viable/strong.

  • Play POE for the rest of my time.

There is lots of storage in Poe, it’s more about organizing loot

I wish more people would take this stance… instead of trying to make D4 more PoE like… because apparently PoE isn’t enough for PoE players.

Storage is not limited, you have plenty of storage as F2P (Again i played F2P for 5 or 6 years with no problems)

Stash tabs you buy just make your life easier, but it’s not like most F2P games where it’s “Buy premium stuff or game is gonna be frustrating” F2P PoE is not frustrating it’s just less convenient and again, you still have a totally functional, playable and enjoyable F2P game…you can just make it even better by buying stash tabs, that’s it

No one tries to make D4 like Poe,it is what it is good for a fast season and that’s it.

It’s true that early access is paid for but what you fail to look at is that you will recieve the value of that 30 dollar for ingame gold as well to purchase whatever you want from the MTX store. I have yet to see Blizz pull a move like that where you pay to play and recieve that same spend amount for ingame shop purchases.

we apparently have different definition of frustrating and convenient

When a game is designed to be intentionally not convenient, it frustrates me.

Do you even read these forums, or even this post for that matter… tons of posts asking for mind numbing amounts of endgame in a game that already takes hundreds of hours to come close to 100% a season.

What other people do is no concern of mine, that’s a blizz problem not mine.

I will also admit… $30 for a year of early access is a crazy amount of value… $10 got like 7 days total of early access in D4.

I did also praise their MTX transfers in another post. I don’t hate the game… some of its players sure… but i’m not a hater.

So you’re making proclamations about people want and admitting ignorance to their actual expressions… way to keep the logical high ground.

No, not opinion. Feelings buddy. Your feelings are irrelevant. I stated facts.

So one more time for slower readers… try to follow.

D4 expenses = 70 base game + 40 Voh + future DLC (I excluded BP or skins in both considering it is optional and just looks)
PoE expenses = 30 + (+ stashes you won´t be able to cover from “free” 300 points contain in EA package). Stashes are NOT optional, you have to buy them to have comfortable playing.

=
PoE2 cheaper (better) to play. It is that simple.

If you for some wierd reasson don´t like the way that you can test the game for FREE and just after that decide if you like it and buy stashes well you are lucky my friend, it is ez solveable. You can buy coins for 110e right at start when you create you character and there you go. Full D4 monetizaion experience.

Can you please show me similiar way I could try D4 to check how bad it is without mandatory 110 payment?

Pointless trying to reason here. I’ll stop now.

You get 300 points along with access. That 300 points would cost you $30 later.
Yes it is funny money, but it will come in handy when you need stash tabs.

wtf kinda double speak is this… opinions are based on feelings. that’s how things work.

Game pass trial, free play weekends… got another questions?

I fully understand this take. Personally it didn’t frustrate me but I didn’t mind paying 25 dollar for the QoL the storage tabs brought. GGG does offer the storage tabs at a discount every few weekends so you do get a lot of QoL value for a rather small amount in comparison to triple A games.
It’s a purchase I happily made as I found them deserving of it based of the quality of the play experience they bring (which is 100% free of charge).

Oh so it’s more like the free horse with currency… okay…

Still don’t want to support the monetization system, but that is certainly different. Thx.

Yes it is exactly Father’s Stupid $65 horsey…IF you were planning to spend that funny money in game anyway. I bought that one here, and used the plat for a Sorc Skin and a Druid skin and there rest went to BP’s.

Now for someone who paid that and hated the game instantly and walked away, totally not worth it.

It is really just an option for people who plan to support the game anyway to get in early.

Ah here is my answer, you based your opinions on feelings
Yeah that not how it works, reasonable people based their opinions on datas and facts.

Oh you mean that EA for 15 lvl cap? Yeah that give you lots of data about game… but maybe it can give you some feelings
Or some free weekends months after release when every gamer already bought or didn´t care anymore?

Best just to back up every slow and walk away from this one .

$10 and two life threatening KFC sandwiches.

No joke I had an allergic reaction to the sandwiches, which is probably why I do not go to my local KFC normally.
