Turn down other players spell VFX?

Maybe this exists and this thread is a waste?

But fireball sorcs (with the split and bouncy uniques) and blood surge necros are annoying to group/helltide with.

Makes me wish I was color blind. Just like how others pets are transparent, can we turn down others spell effects?

It does not exist and we’ve been asking for this since launch pretty much. I don’t need to see a hundred meteors falling down from the sky to the point where I can’t see the meteors from Helltides. We’re thankful pets are barely visible to other players, but I’d also like the option to make my own pets barely visible to myself as well. It’s the small things.

It is interesting how they cut-back the Barb Dust Devils but other classes have equal (or more) annoying screen-wide effects.

Man that thing was beyond atrocious. You literally couldn’t see anything.

I wish there is a VFX slider for both your skills and other player skills.

Hopefully with VoH we will get something, I honestly don’t know if I could even play those builds, I would go insane playing them.

It’s a multiplayer game. You are supposed to see other player’s attack animations. It would be extremely strange to see the enemies falling down around you without them. Many builds have AoE damage attacks. The red and orange colours of Sorc or Necros might just be a bit too “noticeable”.

Having to manage transparency for those animations would probably have a significant impact on performance. There are already problems for some of them.

I play Fireball Sorc, usually take an Elixir of Advantage to increase my attack speed when doing Helltides. Stand in the middle of the altars and just spawn fireballs all around. Sometimes a Blood Surge Necro joins me, sometime another Fireball Sorc and it get even better.

Then it doesn’t hurt to give players the option. Want your other player effects? Leave it default! Want it toned down/opaque? Move the slider!

…but we all know how Blizzard seems to hate sliders!

I don’t care about your spells. I care about mine and the monsters.

It’s so bad it can mask hostile ground effects.

Like the visual diarrhea spam can hide things that can kill you.

Great game mechanics there lmao

This is one of many reasons I play solo. I dread doing that summoning boss in helltides because there is so much particle vomit on screen it is sometimes hard to make out everything.

This is the problem to me. I can never tell what is friendly fire and what is deadly fire. And the consequences are much worse in hardcore. At the very least, change players spells to a different color, like green fire or some such.

My answer was more of a joke but it is was happens when I am doing Hellmaiden. The area effects from other builds are just as visible but I agree that the Fireball colour being the same as some deadly ground effects is a problem. But, it’s fire. Green or blue won’t do.

If you start fainting the other players why not just make there disappear. It is a multiplayer environment and you supposed to see them but also what they are doing. It would be strange to have just ghosts around.

I am pretty sure adjustable transparency will cause performance issues.

Id love an options to turn my own down a little

100% agree options to fade/turn off others and my own would be wonderful. even playing an LS i get annoyed at WB because all I see is a cloud of fog with snowballs and lightning flying everywhere. can’t even see my char most of the time and even the boss gets obscured sometimes lol.

Hopefully this gets added with VoH

I have asked for a “other players effects” transparnecy setting since they first addressed poop necro pools. Still want it.
