Trying To Play With Dad (Playstation), Can't Add As Friend

Heya,

My dad and I grew up playing a lot of Diablo, with our first experience being playing Diablo 1 on the Playstation together. We’re thousands of miles apart nowadays but he wants to play D4 with me. I’m on PC, he’s on Playstation.

I tried to shoot him a friend invite with the email he gave me but he’s not seeing anything on his end. He also gave me his BTag but it gave a similar result. I’m not sure how to actually set up playing with him. I’m not able to tonight but I’ll be available tomorrow and think he’d be pumped if I was able to iron it out for him.

Any suggestions? Anything I’m doing wrong? He’s very much not tech savvy and I can only do so much over phone conversations unfortunately.

Thank you in advance!

I have bad news for you, I think he blocked you. jkjkjk.

Make sure cross network is enabled within game, make sure profile is findable (BNET setting)

Facetime tech support best way for you to help him.

Well heck, I’d say being blocked would make it a good deal more difficult to play with him if he asked!

I’m completely unfamiliar with how BNet works on consoles which is the biggest issue. I’m not even sure where to find those to guide him in that direction. Last console I think I played was an XBox 360. That only throws an extra wrench into things.

He just got Playstation Plus which I think was needed and that’s as far as I got. Any particular direction I should try to point him?

Time to be a good son and buy him a high end PC.

Edit: To be helpful at a minimum for him…

Head to the options menu.
Head over to the Social tab.
Look for the option labelled 'Cross-Network Play'
Check this option on (look for a white square next to it)

Best bet is through this post up in the console forums and see if someone there can help you through it from a playstation point of view.

I’ll check if he has that option enabled. Thank you!

A good idea as well. I’ll be sure to do that!
