Yeah see this is a major turn off
better tell em to try before buy, i believe the dev at gamecon suggested it’s older remaining systems will be streamlined but newer even harder systems will be introduced, lol.
You can play the game straight into maps with no planned build and be just fine with zero information on the game.
Don’t believe me? Darthmicrotransaction just streamed the entire 30 hours it took him.
This type of “you need to plan in PoE”, “PoE is complicated”
Is just mad cope from legitimate morons. PoE is quite simple and will take you maybe 3-4 hours to figure out.
Man , even he told on his stream that you can ruin your character. You cannot compare dedicated streamer with a normal casual player. I always plan my character so I know where I’m heading, but I can imagine that looking on a too small portion of the skill tree can make your game quite hard or stagnant and that can make players quit.
Arpg’s in general have become too easy, focused on the effects and graphics and mobs.
It; my problem with the genre in general, it feels so restricted in what it can be.
and for me never a game after new i will play everyday,
how someone can play D3 rifts 8 hours a day 6 days a week, is beyond my understanding.
It’s just not fun imo.
I was hoping D4 was going to take more risks and be a bit more D1 souls-like rogue-lite maybe. It feels like at one point it could have been.
Ultimately why D4 feels a little off sometimes, it feels in part like the underdeveloped direction of the game is like a soup made by too many cooks in the kitchen.
But i like it.
amazing again, people accept this in POE but not D4…
Not you personally just using your quote to speak on the topic.
I actually do that in D4 too, I decide what I want to play and then I try to find a way how to achieve that. That way I can maintain some fun aspect. Blindly playing meta is not fun.

even he told on his stream that you can ruin your character
That depends on your perspective.
If you are having fun you can’t “ruin” anything. Dm was talking about streamlined builds, and “ruining” from the perspective of feeling powerful. You can’t ruin something you can undo.
I am playing the new league right now, and have found over 120 chaos orbs at level 69. That’s over 360 regrets and you could full respec more than 3x
The game isn’t complicated because it takes more than 3 braincells like d4.
Plenty of people play SSF builds every league making it up as they go.
-The graphics are terrible.-
In a sense yes, the engine is outdated but IMHO the skills visual are so good! If you compare Electric or Fire skills, Diablo looks too cartoonish, while PoE looks so damn sharp and impactful.
-The combat is slow and boring.-
Early game is slow but not slower than Diablo, and half way into campaign you start to feel like your build started to come online, PoE is very complex, i suggest picking a build from the pro if you’re new.
-The “skill tree” is way overdone.-
Yes and no, i would argue that altho it is very complicated but it provides so much more depth, it is literally endless possibilities if you like to experiment with it altho i guess it is too much for the average joe. Mean while in Diablo, you only have a few choices, you pick a Core, maximize Vul Crit or anything that supports the Core and that’s it, BORING…
-The monsters are cheap looking.-
I don’t think so, i believe PoE has more monsters than Diablo, much more variety, maybe by Cheap Looking you meant the graphics, the engine is 10 years old, tbh i have no problem with that, i think the design is still awesome, especially bosses design.
I like Diablo but i love PoE, simply because PoE is better, and they respect their player base, maybe someday Diablo will be as good as PoE, maybe after Season 10.
Fair enough. I respect your opinion. Thanks for the response.
PoE is way too bloated at this point, but to say D4 skill tree is intuitive and interesting? Come on…its ok to admit PoE is just not for you without getting on ur knees for D4. Certainly isn’t for me
Way too bloated
Overcomplicated for the sake of complication
Making ur char look like a potato if u don’t pay for the overpriced cosmetics
D4 just needs a massive content boost, which will happen in a few years time (yah…70 dollar game…)
Graphics do look awesome and the combat, at least as a rogue, is a lot of fun and fast paced. It just doesn’t have much to do past lvl 70…which again, 70 dollar game from megablockbuster ActiBlizz…it should NOT be ok
poe has an actual end game. d4 has nothing.
That’s simply not true. And sure after 10 years I’d expect them to have more content. That’s a no brainer.
A more reasonable comparison would be POE to D3 and its looking like the same match up is happening again with D4 and POE2. D3 launched roughly 2 years before POE, D3 cost $49.99 in 2013 has had an expansion that cost $39.99 POE stuck with the league model and is free2play D3 has had 29 seasons POE has had 34 leagues now look at how much more POE has brought to the base game with zero cost compared to D3 over the same amount of time this is how D4 and POE2 will compare in the future.
The passive talent tree isn’t that complicated considering it’s shared by all classes. If you want something orders of magnitude more complex, there’s D4’s 9 paragon boards per class that can be arranged in customized formations.
Stop reaching for straws and just enjoy some PoE.

just enjoy some PoE.
I gave it a good try. Just didn’t snare me in.
Fair enough. I commend you for giving it a try.
That’s the whole point and exactly why we are all still here poe is garbage!
Then I guess im just a filthy trash panda
I don’t understand these people who think that reducing one game makes the other better.
Type POE has 10 year old graphics behind it, so it doesn’t matter that D4 is a game without endgame whose t1 is a #$¨%& dominated by lag, bots and exploiters and that died in less than 1 week.
WORSE is that this masks the fact that the announcement of S2 is just a repetition of what is already very wrong in the game and brings teenage VAMPIRES (TWILIGHT) and not hordes of hell and armies of paradise to fight DIABLO (you know that demon that gives game name?)
