Treasure Goblins Just Immune Themselves Immidiately and Port Out?

Just… NO.

I don’t care about your reasons. Remove this bs.

I noticed this before. Not sure what causes them to become immune to everything & just port out.

If you run over a goblin with your mount, they can disappear almost instantly. Happened to me twice.

They don’t drop anything but garbage anyways.

I’ve killed every single one I’ve spotted.

Weird flex, but I respect the game.

You have to kill them fast enough or they are gone.

Killing treasure goblins is the most inefficient activity in the game. Pretend they’re poison and avoid at all cost

No, no… I was worried about that. I was just adding my experience as input.
I am a BS necro with a Barber so they kind of explode with two bone spears.

Sounds like an eastern egg, Paladin is coming! (bubble+hearthstone).

Treasure Gobbos recently had their drops “significantly buffed” which in my empirical experience (I’ve killed about 4 in the past 2 weeks) equates to them being about on par with radiant chests you might find in a dungeon.

Which sounds great, except radiant chests are stationary and the only time you draw adds is when they’re cursed – and even then, it becomes a formal event where you get additional rewards depending on how many waves you clear on top of the radiant chest itself.

Gobbos by comparison take at least a full 60 seconds+ in most encounters to down them, unless you get lucky like LordTovek up there and manage to 1-shot them with a quadrillion damage OP skill by accident. In cases where you DON’T one shot them, which comprise the vast majority of player experiences, they’ll be stationary for about 3 to 5 seconds before running off SIGNIFICANTLY FASTER than default character run speed for about 10 seconds at a time before stopping and starting to portal. If you haven’t caught up to them within 5 seconds, they’re gone. If you DO, you have another 3 second window before they run again.

All the while, you’re drawing aggro from everything else in the entire zone, which you can’t stop and deal with without the gobbo noping out of existence. Even when you ARE focusing solely on the gobbo, he sometimes STILL peaces out. And let’s not forget, you’re not the only one there. Suppose someone else is using the Barber, or they’re a hoarder with 4 full stash tabs, or you’re in a PVP zone. Sucks to be you cuz you about to lag out AND potentially die.

Gobbos are an interesting idea, but consider where they came from: Diablo 3.

Diablo 3 gobbos existed in a game where loot literally RAINS from the sky. You pop a gobbo in D3, you get drops that scale with Torment level – at T16, this means 2 or 3 legendaries EASY. You ALSO get mutliple TYPES of gobbos – some drop pets or cosmetics, others drop crafting materials, some drop tons of extra gold, there’s one that splits into multiple SMALLER gobbos, there’s even one that opens a rainbow portal to a secret version of a secret level that is FILLED with loot AND the chance at rare spawns that drop cosmetics.

And ALL of those types (except rainbow gobbo) have a small chance of opening a portal to the Vault, a different secret area with tons and tons of loot that culminates in a special boss fight.

In D3, when you hear the “hee HEE” noise you actively seek them out because you KNOW it’s going to be worth it. There have been entire seasons where the special thing is ONLY “double gobbos” and those are STILL contenders for most fun season mechanics. There are entire communities (or at least there were when I still played prior to D4 launch) devoted to chasing these suckers down.

In D4, if you even NOTICE them in the first place, you’re left performing on-the-fly calculus to determine if it’s even worth getting off your horse. Don’t forget, these gobbos scale with your level so if your gear isn’t keeping up, you won’t kill them in time.

Gobbos need to be entirely removed from the game, OR be entirely reworked to drop the most insane loot imaginable. If I don’t get an Uber Unique from popping these suckers, it’s literally objectively worse to chase them down than just continue on my way to the next objective.

You have to at least attempt to read my post (or in this case, just the title) before leaving a comment… but thanks for the info?

All you have to do is hit them to interrupt their port. Never had an issue.

THEY ARE IMMUNE TO ANYTHING

Not yelling, just helping you read it.

I chose my words correctly. I don’t need advice. it is exactly what’s happening, and it’s stupid.

Let me guess, you have barber?

Nope

Not using Barber

Never seen one become immune ever.

Even if he did, the implication there is that gobbos + the most popular seasonal item in the game right now = a bugged interaction, which at this point is just another brick in the incompetence wall.

I’m not making it up, and it’s not a one off situation. Happens a lot this season.

PPL have said this is related to mounts. Deleted prev comment
