I first noticed this with the world boss Avarice, The Gold Cursed, but appears to be happening across the board. I’ve had 2-GA ** items disappear before I could loot then, and other times I am chasing 1 of 3 Treasure Goblins only to come back shortly and the other drops are gone.
Very strange, I have killed over 100 treasure goblins during the event at this point (been exclusively hunting them), and I have yet to see this happen at all. Several times I have walked away from one kill to make another further away and then walked between the two and I have never had any items disappear. I have also TP’d to town then come back and all of the items were still there on the ground (except some that got automatically moved to my stash, per usual).
If you teleport away loot can be automatically transported in to your stash and you need to then pick it up from there. You’ll see a flashing indicator icon on your stash on the map when this happens. Make sure you right click on the loot in your stash to put it in your inventory, otherwise it will end up on a random tab in your stash and you’ll have to go hunt for it.
Treasure Goblins appear to behave differently in different scenarios:
- Landscape - Treasure Goblins spawn on the landscape, and I have chased other goblins only to return and see that a GA I noticed drop was no longer there.
- World Boss - Treasure Goblins spawn after the death of Avarice, and almost every time I’ve noticed the loot tends to quickly disappear.
- Dungeon - Treasure Goblins in NMDs activated by Greed Shrines, and they seem to “hang around” and I haven’t had any issues with their loot.
There could be a few things happening here. I know there is a limit as to how many items can be on the floor in a dungeon before items start disappearing and loot stops dropping property – this could be related. I don’t know if this happens in open-world landscape areas. There is also an issue wherein if your stash “overflow” tab is at capacity, items sent there will disappear.
There also seems to be some server stability issues, which could (maybe?) impact loot.
