So, you are telling me that the major way to play the seasonal content is to engage with a dungeon with traps in it.
Alot of them.
And you are rewarded if yoyu don’t get hit…
Let me remind you some stuff dear Blizzard
-
This game is already full with stuff on screen, between enemies, your attacks, numbers all over the place you want to make me pay attention to stuff that is spamming attacks that are also hurting me a lot.
-
In some istances it is impossible to me to control my charachter , if i get the Fear effect, or i get attracted to an enemy, or i get the elite that spawns wall, i may get on a trap without the chance to avoid it, and risking to die and to lose my rewards.
-
with some charachter is impossible to see the floor, IE with the necromancer with shadow corpse explosion, with the fire wall with the sorcerer and so on. Plus if you play with friends there is no opacity for their attaks, so even further i can’t see anything.
That said, i have little hopes for this season, specially after the potion change that i hate, and i’ve written a post about it.
Cheers

Yeah! I have to clear the vault to just before the final room then walk back to buy Zoltun’s Wardings then walk back and avoid all traps to the final room. Otherwise I would lose all wardings along the way for sure.

It’s a tasteless, sensationalized design. More does not mean better. It needs quality over quantity. They could have integrated the trap system sporadically to [some] dungeons like Dark Alliance or something. But here we are. Yawn.

Players - June 2023: “We just want to go into a dungeon and murder stuff, finish, and leave. We don’t want these nonsense “pick up item and return them” quests in our dungeons.”
Blizzard - January 2024: “We’re listening and we’ve added traps and if you get hit by them, you lose your progress. You’re welcome.”

they didn’t think this through at all did they? it’s insane how this made it through the ideas stage for a seasonal mechanic.

Hopefully, whomever it was that thought all the traps were a good idea, were among the 1900 fired.

the entirety of D4 was developed by isolated Devs that designed their own thing, and no one bothered to talk to each other and ask the question hey is this going to work with this thing. Thats the only explanation i could come up with. Otherwise i cannot comprehend how they green lit this cancerous trap dungeon system mechanics, i just can’t !!!

Path of exile labyrinth PTSD incoming. God how I hated the traps in PoE in the labs and now we get similar stuff in D4

Traps in D4 are the worst addition to any Diablo game in a long, long time…maybe ever. I thought last season was great but this season doesn’t seem to be well thought out at all.

Not the answer to fixing a game. Grow up already.
Hadn’t thought of doing that. But man that is just going to make the dungeon drag out longer. Honestly the idea of getting rewards for not being hit is probably the dumbest idea I have ever heard for an ARPG.
This type of stuff only works for DnD CRPGs, where everything is slower and a lot less hectic than an ARPG. Hell I don’t mind the occasional traps in dungeons but this is a bit overkill IMO.

the game is the real trap, not in game

Sure, thats the problem, the game…
Such a mess, how did even pass internal meetings, discussions, prototypes and play testing?

What a load of donkey cry baby bs…
Players: Duriel grind is so boring, wonder what color S3 helltide is going to be, hurr hurr, can’t they come up with anything that makes the gameplay different?
Also players: OMG what were they thinking adding a new mechanic, we just want Pindle runs!

If it would just have been PoE lab it would be fine - you lose your progress if you die. This is lab in combination with Sanctum. Worst idea ever.
