Trap Rogue Build?

Hey im using a build that leverages exposure, the malignant heart that drops grenades, with the following skills.

Puncture
Tb
Poison trap
Shadow trap
Smoke grenade
Shadow step

I also have pentitent greaves so i can chill and freeze with frostbitten aspect.

What is the best wrathful heart with this setup?

Its a slower paced build so is shadow step necessary? Maybe swap to concealment?

I think more rogues need to start theory crafting trap builds now.

I think in this case barber.
Argh, let me explain why;

  • I think only a maximized poison imbuement + lots of lucky hit + Lots of Attack speed is good for the heart of staggering thing. :smiley:
  • So if not doing that, best course would be barber.
  • With Vile a close 2nd.

Barber is the best after the patch. I refused to use barber but that’s the only way to gain back my damage after their unannounced bug fixed,

Still no barber but im using vile apothecary.

Its ok so far. I wish i was more survivable as a trap build. I keep running out of potions and its getting annoying.

I’m having a lot of success with a twisting blades rogue with poison trap. I’m lv 80 beating NM 40 without any problems. I use poison trap, shadow imbuement, twisting blades, dash, shadow step, puncture. To freeze I have penitent greaves and frost burns. I use trickery heart in the poison trap to honey pot mobs into one spot. pop shadow and things start to freeze and explode. Works very well. I’ll have to see how far I can get with it. Sure beats the Freeze Sorc I did as my first character.

I finally figured it out and im now farming nm 10 levels above, which is fine for now.

I now use concealment, smoke grenade, death trap, posion trap, puncture, tb.

I have three points in the skill that generates a ton of hp when stealthed. No potion issues anymore. I also use the aspect that makes it so poison trap has no cooldown in stealth

The combo is
Cast concealment
Run forward and drop poison traps
Cast smoke grenade to break stealh and vulnerable everything
Cast death trap to reset everything (including concealment) because i use prep
Repeat the combo but since i dont have death trap up i instead cast twisting blades to reset its cooldown

I may switch to pen shot because it has a far higher lucky hit.

Also i use barber now.
