Just wanted to drop some minor feedback in regards to the transmog system and the post-character creation customization features available to us in the beta.
Pros:
- Appreciate that when you apply an aspect onto a rare, it becomes a legendary, giving you a chance at a transmog you don’t have.
- I like the UI indication for if you’ve collected a transmog or not. Very helpful for knowing whether or not I need to hang onto something.
- Was pleasantly surprised I could change my character’s markings and the color of them
Cons:
- While I can appreciate the “immersion” breaking nature of changing my skin color, face, or hairstyle for other players, ultimately it’s the player’s preference alone. This limitation was done away with in WoW to the happiness of virtually everyone and it’s very disappointing to see we’ve taken a step back from that. There really is no good reason we shouldn’t be able to modify these settings.
- It feels bad having to breakdown an item in order to receive the transmog for it. Was this done to prevent dropping an item for a friend so that they can unlock the transmog before handing it back? Not sure why we’ve also taken a step back from Diablo 3 in this regard. It feels especially bad having to decide between the transmog / extracting an aspect from a legendary. At the very least, it would be appreciated if extracting the aspect unlocked the transmog as well.
- Unsure why certain items (e.g. Darkblade) can’t be transmogged. Seems like an arbitrary choice.

When you zoom in due to the angel you cant even see your xmog. I wish they would start there.
I also agree having to salvage to obtain is kinda lame.

Didn’t feel like creating additional topic for such a small issue/bug, but to me the icons on “hidden transmog” vs “default look” seem to be swapped.

Wardobe suggestion:
Would like to pay some gold to be able to change hairstyle.
Also, the “No Look” option to remove the bow from a melee-only rogue was bugged or disabled, the bow comes back after confirming

This is a minor complaint and I can see why it’s there but the unmatching belt/pelt that shows up when you hide appearances like chest armor at least on the male rogues(probably every class) is terrible and I’d like an option to hide it or at least change its appearance(can also see why it’s in place but still lol).
Also, want the option to change hairstyles and all that. Also, why is this game launching with so few options too? Every game on the market has so much more that you can do in terms of character customization. It is baffling to me when you look at competition like Lost Ark which allows you to change everything about a character. How in 30 years has Blizzard not gone the full distance like every other game or company in allowing completely full customization? It just feels a little lazy, especially after 10+ years of dev time.
Unlocks in the seasonal battlepass. I am not against this- it can be fun.
Ah right, I forgot… my disappointment is immeasurable. Of course, newer options are locked behind a time grind or a pay wall. It’s 2023 after all.
A good deal- Blizzard offers a service, if you enjoy, you invest.
I do not expect them to make all this extra optional QoL and cosmetic content for free. Also, many of the battlepass unlocks are free. Everyone gets access to the BP free, there are some premium rewards that require a $10 fee. This is reasonable IMO, after seeing DOTA 2’s model over the years.
Also, this means more variety down the road than trying to squeeze it into launch deadlines. This is acceptable
The no-look didn’t work on any of the weapons for any of the classes that I tried it on. I really want sorc to not have the offhand and for Barb to hide some of their weapons.
I have too many years of experience with battle passes, I will never really be okay with them charging for cosmetics and definitely not QoL features in any form. Most of this stuff can be provided for free, I know that’s not the world we live in anymore though. The only way I’d be okay with it is if the prices on other things beyond the pass are reasonable. If it is $20 for a cosmetic set in a game like this, that is unreasonable in pretty much every way possible.
I hope they fix it so that you can hide weapons. Barbarian with two 2h on his back look ridiculous. I don’t mind if he magically whips out a hammer during an attack, I dont want it on my back at the same time as my 2h sword however, its just too much.
