Trample Needs a Rework

Trample and Landslide are not complimentary.

The knockback of Trample consistently pushes all enemies out of the path of the Landslide. Since I also have the Aspect that causes Landslide to trigger twice, sometimes enemies that are knocked back can still end up getting hit by the 2nd wave of Landslide if they are melee mobs that try to run back to me after the pushback, but Trample also frequently stuns enemies, which works to make it that much less likely that the enemies run back into the Landslide.

Trample needs to be reworked so that it no longer has a knockback effect. The definition of “Trample” is to tread over and crush. It makes no sense that Trample pushes enemies out of the way. If the devs really desire Trample to have a knockback effect for some reason, then it should knock enemies behind you, after you’ve trampled over them, thus sending them into the path of the Landslide. But even then you’d run the risk of knocking them too far behind you that they still get missed by Landslide. It’d be best to just remove the knockback. Maybe replace the knockback with a knockdown.

It’s as if none of the devs actually played with this ability before release. The first time I used it, it was just immediately like, “Wow! that’s frickin’ stupid…”

I agree that Trample should adjusted some, but Blizzard had the terrain damage in there so they’d have to remove that component. Trample should knock enemies down.

That being said, you need to trample past enemies and not push them out of the way if you can’t bounce them against a wall.

Trample > Dash> Boulder enemy into 2nd wave of landslides. Sometimes first if you are quick enough. Also, ghostwalkers aspect is helpful here. Not that I don’t agree with your sentiment, but as it stands those things might help.

No one uses boulder, it is a trash ability.

Trample would be more fun if it casts several boulders along its path imo

Trampleslide uses boulder. It’s a spirit free way to trigger symbiotic aspect to reset trample, in a build that doesn’t use any spirit at all.

Also, when leveling an alt with friends carrying you, boulder is a useful utility skill on a character that isnt doing any damage anyway.

Not a trash ability, but certainly a trash take on your end.

Huh? Boulder doesn’t reset Trample, it would get reset with Trample from using Storm skills. Are you saying you’re using Boulder to help reset storm skills to reset Trample and Boulder? I can see that as a unique playstyle but Landslide is already beefed up, you could use that instead, or just use storm skills like Wind Shear or Stormstrike mostly since those are spammable and directly reset Trample.

You are correct, my apologies, i stated that backwards. Yes I include it in the build of all CDs as it gets reset by wind shear or storm strike just like bulwark and trample does. Like I said originally I use it to push things into the landslide wave when trample pushes them out of it. It also does pretty decent damage on its own, NF making it as spammable as trample.

No update to trample on the patch notes. Def not doing landslide season 1

Update as in a change? They made savage trample grant 40 spirit instead of the previous 20 spirit. Or were you expecting some other change?
