Why have any trading at all when you get everything you want easily?

This your first diablo game? There’s been an AH for diablo since 04’. you just have to know where to find it. hint: ask ANY d2 player how they traded back in the og days.

Which is still operating today

Everything but boss mats. :sob:

 This man knows what I’m talking about. It’s literally the best kept secret, that’s not a secret.

everyone knows about it… its inconvenient and a huge time sync not being in game

An AH would only multiply the problems that lead to the suspension of trading. Trading is poison to the game.

what you mean forum gold

Trading is why Diablo 2 lasted 20 years and then some

An auction house is needed and player to player direct trading needs to be disabled. All trades in the AH should be anonymous thus eliminating RMT transactions as you cannot sell for $$$ if you cannot identify who you’re trading with

To minimize impact to friends playing together, any item found in the same game can be dropped and other people in the game when it was found can see it and pick it up.

Value could be added to Clans by allowing clan members to trade directly between each other only if the item was found while both members trading were a member of the clan and have been a member for more than 72 hours…

boom trading fixed.

If you want to trade than continue to play D2. Trading nearly broke D3 and is poison to D4. Play the game and find your own gear.

Trading nearly broke D3 due to RMT auction house.

Without trading, D4 will become D3 2.0

why do ppl always come up with this? nobody wants a real money marketplace.

I’m not advocating for a real money auction house lol… should be in game gold only.

That was literally his point… THe fact that the D3 AH was initially introduced as a RMT AH gave people an incredible incentive to exploit etc.

An Ah using in-game currency is generally good for the game as it allows you to hedge against bad RNG, in the same way the Resplendent spark system does now. Say you’re running a fireball sorc and you can’t get the gloves/staff but end up with multiple pairs of Axial pants, or 2x/3x GA’s on attributes your class/build doesn’t use but others do…

You can sell one to buy the other, instead of just having to stare at what would have been incredible luck… on a different class

Trading is great and adds a lot to a game… if it’s in a controlled AH in game, safe, convenient and dev-approved. Going to some website to trade is a huge turn off and what about console folks? They are a large number of players now with Gamepass too and they get no trading (AFAIK).

The whole ‘D3 had a bad AH 10 years ago!’ PTSD routine is pretty stale.

I like the blind auction house idea. Should keep the worse elements out.

The devs seem set on not adding an AH. I wouldn’t hold my breath on this one.

Yes, adding an auction house seems like a great idea when they can’t even fix dupe bugs. You’d likely see a bunch of the same exact items listed by the same people, similar to how you’d have two items with the exact same name and stat rolls in the Diablo 3 auction house. You’d also see people listing thousands and thousands of boss mats that would not be possible to gather during the amount of time that the season has existed.

It’d be okay if they could actually fix the issues that have existed since the game launched, but most of the development team must be working on cosmetic sets and upcoming expansions rather than fixing current content.

Bad take. Bc bad implementation. In-game trading is healthy for longevity & interest. If done right, it can also undermine the existing parallel economy & chip away at the spam.
