Trade unique items

Can you trade unique items or is it just rare.

I know leggos are non tradeable.

Uniques are higher rarity than legendaries, so, no.

No, unfortunately. Uniques are account bound. I believe they clarified that in one of the dev posts or in a community message.

Hopefully they change their mind.

They wont. If anything changes it will be to make trading more restrictive.

Looking forward to the wailing, gnashing of teeth and rending of garments from the trade zealots when they make rares not tradeable because they ran off to D2JSP or PlayerAuctions on release day.

Yup. A loooooong time ago I was an avid jsp user, and even I hope they do it, and we get to watch the tears.

Just rares but rares will be bis for imprinting. They apparently roll 5 affixes in the later game. They will be more sought after than uniques anyway.

You couldn’t be more wrong.

I mean yeah I could. I could say blues will be the most sought after.

I suppose, if you say so.

It’s true. I could have been much more wildly wrong.

Bummer i hope they do the opposit and open trading.

Id like to trade amongst friends and family.

Hes correct though. A perfect/godly rare is going to be much more sought after than any unique. Uniques… arent that unique.

Deny and argue all you want… its fine… but they werent rare in cb, and even if the drops for them were buffed even 50%… still arent that rare.

I can assume restrictions on trading is to help fend off gold farmers and/or item sellers that leech off of games like Diablo. It was a feeding frenzy in D2 and early days of D3!

I played closed end game beta, I know what powerful uniques are like and they have unique affixes that can’t be rolled on rares on top of special unique power.

So, right back to you.

You’re right, you also know then finding GOOD rares to throw good aspects on are much rarer than any unique.

So, hes not wrong.

The thing is, missing or rolling a wrong affix on the rare won’t make or break a build. However uniques can define a build. That’s the difference and why uniques will be most coveted.

The SET affixes on them are what are sought. They always have them. The other rolls are niceties.

A crap unique will complete the build, and a good rare will improve it more than a slightly improved unique.

You are interpreting it the wrong way. I mean you want the unique to complete your build, while say a chest piece with one more affix, or better rolled affixes can improve your overall performance, it won’t be as impactful as having that unique vs not having it.

Well no kidding, but after you get even a trash unique, your focus is going to be to improve and max out the rares, because finding the best rares will be much harder, making them more sought after… as he said, and you said he was wrong, in which he is not.
