It’s not even just among gamers, but also gamers towards developers. I admit I sometimes add to this toxicity but we all gotta make an effort to stop.
The D2/POE fanatics did the same thing here. Hopefully POE2 is everything they dream it to be and we can finally be rid of their toxicity once and for all.
My man called it lile it is BASED AF
It is interesting because both of those games have forums and yet they still like to troll on the D4 forum.
I’m glad you understood the entire message… we need to cool tf down, give feedback and drop the “I paid so I want this” act! You either wanna support the franchise or be silent and drop it. I, myself called it during earlt access… it will become a d3 clone… I was right and here I am trying to voice it so they don’t copy paste since launch… I want D4 to be D4
I think I agree with your points. What I feel makes D4 a magnet for criticism is that the fanbase is rabid. Rabid about the lore, the world, the characters. There was a lot riding on this game. To whiplash changes and “fixes” non-stop for 15 months tells me that the kind of care this game was given by developers is not nearly the amount of care the community expects for this franchise, as Diablo is a lot of folks “baby”.
Last time i checked the D2R forum it was dead. PoE forums are interesting in there is a lot of mixed chatter about POE2.
So ready for this lol!
Constructive criticism and suggestions are healthy and imo needed. Dev bashing is pointless and pretty much eliminates any chance that anyone who matters to the change people want is going to pay any attention to them at all. Wish more people got this.
Agree Abaddon, nice post.
But the Barrens …bring back memories.
Horde can’t be trusted!
You need to eradicate them, wherever you go.
They are filthy animals…
For Alterac, for the Alliance and all we lost!
Vanilla WoW pvp, good times
While I agree with the notion I also disagree with it being unnecessary
I mean toxicity is always bad but not all of the negativity comes from bad intent
I remember quite well that there were 3-5 weeks where people were fairly mild on critique but high on hope in the starting phase of the game. It’s when some things totally missed the mark toxicity ramped up lol
And yes, I believe it peaked somewhere at the end of S2 and start of S3 and kept on strong until a month after S4
Then it happened again but briefly until S5 kicked in full gear so I think that was it overall
Yes, there will be “some” toxicity moving on forward but think that people that expected D4 to be/do something else will move on to PoE2 and leaving the current D4 folk with a “fresh new start” tbh
Looking forward to jumping in here and there but I think despite not quite what I think is the best for the game at least looks like having some decided/dedicated future
GL all
Its not toxicity just in game world rising. Look at where we are as a society and you will see that intolerance and authoritarianism and conspiracy in general are rising. Education levels are falling, science is being rejected, and something has to fill the void. We need a new age of enlightenment.
Nice message OP.
…but I am not clearing my ignore list.
It’s not just the gaming community.
In my area there is a facebook-like app called NextDoor. People on that forum almost get violent arguing over the best way to open a package of hotdogs.
With your teeth is the best answer.
Screw VoH. Diablo 4 is just not a good game idc what anyone says at this point.
From my PoV, a player is just creating their own PVE MOBA hero. A player is stuck playing this one MOBA hero for 3 months and can, for the most part, never change their build as opposed to an actual MOBA where you can change your character or your build every 25-45 min lol.
Build-a-bear workshop has a better business model than Blizzard.
And probably a more realistic looking Bear.
That’s fair, but then one has to ask, why are you sticking around? I don’t mean this in a condescending way, I’m genuinely curious what keeps you here.
No no one has to ask this. I never HAD to ask that.
You remember in college when you paid a cover to get into that house party, but once you were inside it was nothing but dudes? Did you leave…no, you drank all the beer you could…before going to the bar. That’s why.
But where’s the ‘beer’ in D4? Or is the ‘beer’ the social interactions on the forums?
The “beer” is whatever the cover is for.
In this case you need to have purchased the game to post here, so once you have paid you can post here as long as you are not breaking the COC. The “why” is his business and no one else’s.
