Toxicity in the gaming world in general

It’s like, the reason we accept RNG in video games even though it’s deterministic is that we don’t know the initial state and the method of computation, so we accept it as random in effect.

(I realize I’m taking a leap here equating true randomness with free will.)

In the same manner, we might be entirely deterministic, but we don’t understand how we work enough to know one way or another. So we perceive free will, even if it’s not true.

Quantum uncertainty has often been lamented as frustrating and counterintuitive, but searches for “hidden variable” theories that might reveal an underlying reality that is deterministic have not had any real success.

So to a certain degree, I do equate the two in reality. In any case, I believe I have free will because I have no proof otherwise.

IF the two are actually related (free will and randomness) then IF qubits can be put into an uncertain state and then collapse probabilistically into a readable state that can be used as data, we may actually be able to craft a consciousness some day, if free will is the root of consciousness (at least as we would perceive it.) That’s WAY beyond my knowledge base in every case, though.

or you know, at least give us true randomness in our video game drops
