Torment 4 is too easy to play in and get to, which is hurting D4’s progressions systems and the feeling of acomplishment. Glyph leveling, Masterworking and finding Ancestral Aspects/Gear are losing their meaningfullness, mainly due to the fact that the majority of builds can play in Torment 3 with relatively basic gear.
So the question becomes: If Torment 4 is relatively easy to get to, then what are players progressing for?
My suggestion is to either rebalance Torment difficulties, nerf some multipliers from Aspects, increase power gains from skill ranks, or a combination of all mentioned.
I do want to add however, that the D4 team did an amazing job making most builds viable and interesting - thank you for that!
The is a problem that is caused by massive imbalance in heroes. This is a side effect solution that is not needed. Current solution is actual hero balance not some doing trillions, some doing billions, and sorcs doing millions but really fast!
IF you pick the current super op character then your punishment is getting bored faster because there is no challenge left.
The torment levels aren’t the problem, it’s the class balance. Blizz needs to hire a large team of testers to come in and straighten this **** out before the next expansion comes out.
Bingo. Has nothing to do with difficulty levels. What the OP suggests is just a band aid to the problem. You’re still alienating classes and builds that are lagging behind others that are too far ahead. I feel this idea is no different than people asking for more torment tiers.
Ideal world balance wouldn’t be some classes can easily do 130+ pits while others struggle to reach 100+. Unfortunately this is our current reality until they fix things. Which probably won’t be for a while to come.
I think refactoring difficulties could make sense, but only if a wider variety of builds are balanced to be on-par with the strongest builds.
Then I would do T1-3 and then have Hell where Hell difficulty is designed to be difficult even with a mostly finished build and the focus of that difficulty is on achievements and cosmetic/prestige rewards.
Moni and Xan runes are important for overpowering, as well as Leveling the Spirit glyph to legendary and obtaining a ring of starless skies to play in Torment 4 comfortably. This was achieved rather quick - maybe lucky RNG.
Class balance consists of having 1 or 2 good builds per class and some classes being way above others. Put some real effort into balance for the sake of longevity of the game.
Do you know how boring having 1 or 2 build options with a new seasonal theme is gonna get after a few more seasons?
Spend 99% of your time in the new seasonal zone to gain currency to gain seasonal powers. You have 1 good build option while you do this. The OP builds are 1 shotting the big boss monsters of the zone and you are gaining exp just from standing in the same general area as them.
Rinse and repeat every 3 months. We are 1 week in and people are already saying they’re bored.
Can you afford to put this minimal of effort every season?
Right now there are people doing 18 hour shifts in the coal mines. You can put more work into the game.
Do you want the next expansion to get cancelled? Do ya? Do you not like expansions?
Liking this as I’m in the same place LOL. I did unlock T3 but unlocking is different from the game difficulty on that tier itself. Trying to play in T3 again.
if u keep looking up primo builds online and s tier builds you will run into the same problem. Play the game on your own and you won’t encounter this issue.
