This game has many issues. We all know it. WE need D4 to be saved. D4 should be the best ARPG out there. Its got the legacy and its got the loyal playerbase. It just doesnt have the a long term vision. Its very short sighted and jumpy decisions upending everything that came before it. No good. Lets get a plan in place!
1] Bug crush. Nothing else matters if the game doesnt work. Get the game in working order. No more wondering what passives work and what skills and what items. Get it done. Whatever it takes. Should not take community and streamers and 57 messages and 3 tries to fix one ring. Devs should be doing this themselves on every single passive and aspect and item and skill in the game. We are not beta testers.
2] Remove all multipliers. Game will be so much easier to balance. WE can aim for millions as top dps goal. Monster life can be adjusted. Skill damage can be based mainly on ranks and paragon. Aspects are now much more free to change gameplay in interesting ways like frost meteors instead of everyone just stacking multipliers.
3] Embrace RNG. PPL like having chances for cool things to happen. It breaks up monotony and makes things interesting. They would do this for everything. Events, pits, dungeons, helltides, ect. The suffix and prefix system. I give 2 examples below:
Quad Horde of Missing Spires [10 waves]
Quad - 4 choices of modifiers instead of 3. Legendary prefix.
Missing Spires - Horde does not have spire modifiers. Rare suffix.
Butchers Pit of Elixirs
Butcher - Pit contains 1 butcher that drops items and gives a large completion bonus. - Unique prefix.
Elixirs - Boss drops 3 extra random elixirs. - Magic suffix.
4] Ensure a fair experience. You have to stop duping. You just have to. Duping ruins the season economy and many players trade. Everything is tradable except mythics. Also have to get balance under control so players can play how they want with different skills and at least get to pit 100.
5] Revamp Skill Tree. Its boring. Very little choice. Same passives are picked season after season. Other Arpg are light years ahead of you here. Our current skill tree looks like it belongs in 2004. You really want to spice up things have us pick secondary hero at level 60. This lets you pick 1 skill from another hero for hotbar slot 7.
6] Make season pop. WE cant just have every season be ? powers, ? powers, ? powers guys. You have got to mix things up and make it fresh. Look to really change the game rules and make players go oh wow that looks crazy! Stuff like uniques can have an aspect, or play as a goblin and escape other playes to gain more loot from gobs you kill, or your pet now has an attack and different pets have different skills, ect. Make it nuts. That is what seasons are supposed to do.
7] Release Mid season content. The current view of Bliz on this is no but it needs to change. You need something in mid season to keep season going. This was key in S2 with AoZ. As bad as AoZ was it was something to do and another way to level glyphs.
8] Add more to game permanently. We have gotten very little here. Hordes were a massive success. WE need more stuff added to the game permanently like this.
9] Ramp up Quality of Life. Here is another top 10 list.
A] 200% movespeed in friendly areas.
B] No delay on portaling or make it 0.5seconds.
C] Inventory size increased 50% to 100%.
D] More storage unlockable.
E] White and blue items removed from game. Replaced with rare drop.
F] Pet faster and radius collect bigger and also collects PVP dust too.
G] Can keep previous rolls on tempering just like enchanter. Consistency increase!
H] Purchasable services from Blacksmith. Can toggle on / off.
1] Auto dismantle all non GA items. -
2] Auto dismantle all 1 GA or worse items.
3] Auto dismantle all 2 GA or worse items.
I] Guilds improved. Should mean much more.
J] Can combine stygian stone and 5 tributes to make epic tribute. This has the rewards of 5 tributes at the end. Speeds these up because they build up fast and you can end a season with a hundred of them.
10] Fix unused content. So much already in the game that is skipped most the time. Cellars. Strongholds, Most side quests. All useless.
Cellars - Changes to appear rarely with ping on map. These would use the prefix and suffix system as mentioned before. Best density of mobs in the game would in cellars.
Strongholds - Become a hub of activity each week. Weekly quests with nice rewards. These could roll rarities too with mythic quests giving out great loot but extra hard. All strongholds could be unified by earning tokens and then vendors sell items for them with different themes in each area such as fractured peaks has many item for Sorcerer. Good stuff like GA guaranteed Starfall Coronet or random items with extra tempers or items with max aspects. So many possibilities.
Side Quests - Lets make rewards interesting here. Maybe rare with 4 affixes but these affixes are not top tier. Maybe completed quests in an area give you magic find in that area. Maybe completing an entire area quests gives you a blacksmith temper scroll usable even on items that have already had a scroll used on. There is so much you could do here to spice up content already in the game.
