Too many elixirs!

I’m opening the topic about the variety of elixirs we can use during our travels simply because I haven’t found similar topic.

Let’s be honest here, they drop a lot, especially during Helltides and if you’re like me, you’re hoarding over 70% of your consumable tab with them! That needs change. While I could refuse to pick up an elixir, I think what needs to change are elixirs themselves. There is no reason to have so many different damage or resistance elixirs (I’d say the same for item modifiers but that’s a different topic). There’s just too many slaying elixirs and to many elixirs of # resistance, and they’re just unnecessary taking up restricted space we have.

I’d like to see Blizzard change them to % increased damage/resistance elixirs, at reduced value maybe. It would simplify and still apply a pretty much same bonuses. I would also like to see movement speed and maybe magic find elixirs. In some way, we should be able to increase the duration too, maybe through renown? Increased chance to drop materials? There is a lot that could be changed/added and spice things up in d4.

Separate tab for potions and sigils would be welcome and perhaps an option to tag potions as favorites. Would make them easier to distinguish. What do you think? Are you happy with elixirs as they are? I often forget to use one… A quickslot you could add your favorite potion to would be nice to have, like the one for health potion.

Since no answered your thread I will.

Whoever thought opening your inventory every 5 minutes to drink a 5% xp boost was an interesting new game play mechanic needs to go back to the drawing board.

It’s just boring, and the 5% FOMO from not using the elixir isn’t helping the gameplay experience that is already quite tedious.

Why would we need to craft any elixirs if they drop like candy anyway ?

I made the argument on another thread that it looks like devs saw the POE potions system and thought “Gee, what a great idea that would be if they were all consumables that can drop anywhere but can’t be assigned to a button”

they can be assigned to the action wheel (default E) but I mean the elixirs themselves don’t restore life or do anything when consumed besides grant a 30 minute buff, so it’s not exactly the same as poe flasks.

I didn’t know and didn’t even thought to try and assign it to the action wheel. It beats having to search through the consumables tab just to find the elixir you want to use. If they intended to somewhat copy PoE potion mechanics, they should’ve done it right…
